So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to the Jew and told him to take dates as compensation for Jabir's debt to him, but he refused. Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam also invited him to speak again, but he still refused to give Jabir an extension of time. Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam then entered the date palm garden and went around it, he then said to Jabir: "Pick the fruit and pay him." After the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam returned he picked thirty wasaq dates, and still had twelve wasaq left. Jabir then met Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam to tell him what he had done, but he did not find Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam there. When Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam returned, Jabir came again and informed him that he had paid it, and informed him of the excess he had received. Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam then said: "Tell Umar Ibnul Khaththab about this." Jabir then went to Umar and informed him.
