Welcome to the study of authentic hadith selected by ULYAH. Let's look at some of the following sayings of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, one by one, with an open heart to put them into practice. 1st Hadith. God willing God willing God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ God bless you عُنُقَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah], has told us [Syababah] from [Ibn Abu Dzi'b] from [Al Harith] from [Abu Salamah] from [Abu Hurairah], he said; "The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "If someone is drunk, then you must punish him with a lashing. If he repeats it, then you must punish him again. And if he repeats it again, you must punish him with another lashing. Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said the fourth time: 'If he repeats it again, cut his neck (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2572.) 2nd hadith. God bless you God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبُوا فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ثُمَّ God willing فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. It has told us [Hisyam bin Ammar], it has told us [Syu'aib bin Ishaq], it has told us [Sa'id bin Abu Arubah] from [Ashim bin Bahdalah] from [Dzakwan Abu Salih] from [Mu'awiiyah bin Abu Sufyan]; Indeed, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "If they drink Khamr then whip them, then drink again then whip them, then drink again then whip them, then drink again then kill them (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2573.) 3rd Hadith. God willing عَبْدُ اللَّهْ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing God willing God bless you God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. فَقَالَ ‏"‏ اجْلِدُوهُ ضَرْبَ مِائَةِ سَوْطٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ هُوَ أَضْعَفُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ لَوْ ضَرَبْنَاهُ مِائَةَ سَوْطٍ مَاتَ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ فَخُذُوا لَهُ عِثْكَالاً "‏"‏ ‏.‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا God willing يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، عَنْ سَعْدْ عليه وسلم نَحْوَهُ ‏.‏. It has told us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah], it has told us [Abdullah bin Numair], it has told us [Muhammad bin Ishaq] from [Ya'qub bin Abdullah bin Al Asyajj] from [Abu Umamah bin Sahal bin Hunaif] from [Sa'id bin Sa'd bin Ubadah], he said; "In our house there was a short and old man, we did not pay attention to him except when he committed adultery with a house slave, [Sa'd bin Ubadah] reported this incident to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: "Punish me with one hundred lashes. " They answered, "O Prophet of Allah! The man was very weak, if we whipped him a hundred times, he would surely die. Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam answered, "Take a stick containing a hundred palm branches, then hit him with it just once." Has told us [Sufyan bin Waki'], has told us [Al Muharibi] from [Muhammad bin Ishaq] from [Ya'qub bin Abdullah] from [Abu Umamah bin Sahal] from [Sa'd bin Ubadah] from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa salam with a similar Hadith (Degree: authentic. God willing God bless you God willing God bless you مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، وَمُوسَى بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْنَا السِّلاَحَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Ya'qub bin Humaid bin Kasib], has told us [Abdul Aziz bin Abu Hazim] from [Suhail bin Abu Salih] from [his father] from [Abu Hurairah] he said; and has told us [Al Mughirah bin Abdurrahman] from [Ibn Ajlan] from [his father] from [Abu Hurairah] he said; It has been told to us by [Anas bin Iyadl] from [Abu Masy'ar] from [Muhammad bin Ka'ab] and [Musa bin Yasar] from [Abu Hurairah] that the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Whoever draws his sword against us, then he is not from our group (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2575.) 5th Hadith. God willing يُوسُفَ بْنِ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى God bless you God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings السِّلاَحَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا ‏"‏ ‏.‏. It has been told to us [Abdullah bin Amir bin Barrad bin Yusuf bin Buraid bin Abu Burdah bin Abu Musa Al `Ash'ari] said; has told us [Abu Usamah] from [Ubaidullah] from [Nafi'] from [Ibn Umar], he said; "The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: 'Whoever draws a sword (to attack) us, then he is not from our group (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2576.) 6th Hadith. God bless you وَيُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَعَبْدُ or God bless you God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings السِّلاَحَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا ‏"‏ ‏.‏. It has been told to us [Mahmud bin Ghailan] and [Abu Kuraib] and [Yusuf bin Musa] and [Abdullah bin Al Barrad], all of them said; has told us [Abu Usamah] from [Buraid] from [Abu Burdah] from [Abu Musa Al Asy'ari], he said, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Whoever draws a sword against us, is not from our group (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2577.) 7th Hadith. حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَم God bless you God bless you may Allah bless him and give him peace of mind فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ لَوْ خَرَجْتُمْ إِلَى ذَوْدٍ لَنَا فَشَرِبْتُمْ مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا وَأَبْوَالِهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَفَعَلُوا فَارْتَدُّوا عَنَ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing رَسُولُ اللَّهْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَرْجُلَهُمْ or وَتَرَكَهُمْ بِالْحَرَّةِ حَتَّى مَاتُوا ‏.‏. Has told us [Nashr bin Ali Al Jahdlami], has told us [Abdul Wahab], has told us [Humaid] from [Anas bin Malik] that a group of people from Urainah came to Medina at the time of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa salam because of stomach ache, Anas bin Malik said, "It would be good for you to go out to the camel herds, then you drink the milk and urine of the camels. So they did that and then came out of Islam and killed the herdsmen of Rasulullah Shalallahu 'alaihi wa salam and slaughtered the livestock. So Rasulullah Shalallahu 'alaihi wa salam sent messengers to look for them and cut off their hands and feet and blinded their eyes and then left them in the hot rock area until they died (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2578.) 8th Hadith. God bless you God bless you God willing God willing أَغَارُوا عَلَي فَقَطَعَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَرْجُلَهُمْ وَسَمَلَ أَعْيُنَهُمْ ‏.‏. Has told us [Muhammad bin Basyar] and [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna], both of them said; has told us [Ibrahim bin Abu Al Wazir], has told us [Ad Darawardi] from [Hisyam bin Urwah] from [his father] from [Aisha]: that a people chopped up (killed with hatred) the camel belonging to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) which had a lot of milk and was about to give birth, then he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cut off their hands and feet, and gouged out their eyes (with a hot iron). (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2579.) 9th Hadith. God bless you الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنْ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدْ God bless you مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Hisyam bin 'Ammar], has told us [Sufyan] from [Az Zuhri] from [Thalhah bin Abdullah bin Auf] from [Sa'id bin Zaid bin Amru bin Nufail] from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, he said: "Whoever is killed defending his property, then he is a shahid (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2580.) 10th Hadith. may Allah bless him and give him peace of mind مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْجَزَرِيُّ، God bless you رَسُولُ اللَّهْ مَالِهِ فُقُوتِلَ فَقَاتَلَ فَقُتِلَ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. It has been told to us [Khalil bin Amru], it has been told to us [Marwan bin Mu'awiyah], it has been told to us [Yazid bin Sinan Al Jazari] from [Maimun bin Mihran] from [Ibn Umar], he said, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Whoever is robbed of his property and then attacked and then fights but is killed, then he is a martyr (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2581.) 11th Hadith. God bless you God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ مَنْ أُرِيدَ مَالُهُ ظُلْمًا فَقُتِلَ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. It has told us [Muhammad bin Basyar], it has told us [Abu Amir], it has told us [Abdul Aziz bin Al Muthallib] from [Abdullah bin Al Hasan] from [Abdurrahman Al `A'raj] from [Abu Hurairah], he said; Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Whoever wants to have his property unjustly by someone else and then he is killed, then he dies as a martyr (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2582.) 12th Hadith. Allah's blessings God bless you "‏ God bless him يَدُهُ وَيَسْرِقُ الْحَبْلَ فَتُقْطَعُ يَدُهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. It has told us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah], it has told us [Abu Mu'awiyah] from [`Al A'masy] from [Abu Salih] from [Abu Hurairah], he said. Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Allah subhanahu wata'ala cursed a thief who stole an egg and then cut off his hand and stole a piece of rope and then cut it (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2583.) 13th Hadith. God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing فِي مِجَنٍّ قِيمَتُهُ ثَلاَثَةُ دَرَاهِمَ ‏.‏. Has told us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah], has told us [Ali bin Mushir] from [Ubaidullah] from [Nafi'] from [Ibn Umar], he said, "The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam cut off the hand of someone who stole a shield worth three dirhams (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2584.) 14th Hadith. حَدَّثَنَا أَبُم God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings دِينَارٍ فَصَاعِدًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Abu Marwan Al Utsmani], has told us [Ibrahim bin Sa'd] from [Ibn Shihab] that [Amrah] informed him from [Aisyah], he said, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "The hand of a thief is not cut off, unless the item he steals is worth a quarter of a dinar or more (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2585.) 15th Hadith. God bless you God willing God willing God bless you السَّارِقِ فِي ثَمَنِ الْمِجَنِّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Muhammad bin Basyar], has told us [Abu Hisham Al Makhzumi], has told us [Wuhaib], has told us [Abu Waqid] from [Amir bin Sa'd] from [His father] from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa salam said: "A thief's hand was cut off for the price of a war shield (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2586.) 16th Hadith. God willing بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. love God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing رَجُلٍ ثُمَّ عَلَّقَهَا فِي عُنُقِهِ ‏.‏. It has been told to us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah] and [Abu Bisyr Bakar bin Khalaf] and [Muhammad bin Basyar] and [Abu Salamah Al Jubari Yahya bin Khalaf], all of them said; has told us [Umar bin Ali bin Atha` bin Muqaddam] from [Hajjaj] from [Makhul] from [Ibn Muhairiz], he said; "I asked [Fadlalah bin 'Ubaid] about hanging his hands around his neck, so he answered; "It is part of the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam that he cut off a man's hand and then hung it around his neck (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2587.) 17th Hadith. حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدَ God bless you God willing God willing حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَبْدْ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. جَمَلاً لِبَنِي فُلاَنٍ فَطَهِّرْنِي ‏.‏ فَأَرْسَلَ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. God willing عليه وسلم فَقُطِعَتْ يَدُهُ ‏.‏ قَالَ ثَعْلَبَةُ أَنَا God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing. تُدْخِلِي جَسَدِي النَّارَ ‏.‏. Has told us [Muhammad bin Yahya], has told us [Ibn Abu Maryam], has told us [Ibn Lahi'ah] from [Yazid bin Abu Habib] from [Abdurrahman bin Tsa'labah Al Ansari] from [his father]; that Amru bin Samurah bin Habib bin Abdu Shams came to Rasulullah sallallahu 'alaihi wa salam and said; "O Messenger of Allah, I have stolen a camel belonging to Bani Fulan, clean me!" So the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam sent to the Bani Fulan, and they said; "We have lost our camel." Then Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam ordered him to be punished, so that his hands were cut off. Tsa'labah said; "I saw him when his hand fell and he said; "Praise be to Allah who has purified me from you (hands) who wanted to send my body to hell (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2588.) 18th Hadith. Allah's blessings God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings فَبِيعُوهُ وَلَوْ بِنَشٍّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah], has told us [Abu Usamah] from [Abu 'Awanah] from [Umar bin Abu Salamah] from [His father] from [Abu Hurairah] said; Rasulullah Shalallahu 'alaihi wa salam said: "If a slave steals then sell him even for half a uqiyah (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2589.) 19th hadith. Allah's blessings بْنُ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنْ God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing فَلَمْ يَقْطَعْهُ وَقَالَ ‏ "‏ مَالُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَرَقَ بَعْضُهُ بَعْضًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Jubarah bin Al Mughallas], has told us [Hajjaj bin Tamim] from [Maimun bin Mihran] from [Ibn 'Abbas]; In fact, a slave from among the slaves of one-fifth of the spoils of war stole something from one-fifth of the spoils of war, so when he was brought before the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam and he did not cut it, he said: "The treasure of Allah Azza wa Jalla, some steal others (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2590.) 20th hadith. God bless you God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings ‏ "‏ لاَ يُقْطَعُ الْخَائِنُ وَلاَ الْمُنْتَهِبُ وَلاَ الْمُخْتَلِسُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. It has been told to us [Muhammad bin Basyar], it has been told to us [Abu Ashim] from [Ibnu Juraij] from [Abu Az Zubair] from [Jabir bin Abdullah], verily the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "A traitor, usurper and pickpocket have not had their hands cut off (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2591.) 21st Hadith. God bless you may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنْ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ لَيْسَ عَلَى الْمُخْتَلِسِ قَطْعٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Muhammad bin Yahya], has told us [Muhammad bin Ashim bin Ja'far Al Mishri], has told us [Al Mufadlal bin Fadlalah] from [Yunus bin Yazid] from [Ibnu Shihab] from [Ibrahim bin Abdurrahman bin 'Auf], from [His father] said; "I heard Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam say: 'There is no punishment for cutting off a pickpocket's hand (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2592.) 22nd Hadith. God bless you God willing يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، وَاسِعِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ، God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ لاَ قَطْعَ فِي ثَمَرٍ وَلاَ كَثَرٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Ali bin Muhammad], has told us [Waki'], has told us [Sufyan] from [Yahya bin Sa'id] from [Muhammad bin Yahya bin Habban] from his Uncle [Wasi' bin Habban] from [Rafi' bin Khadij] said; Rasulullah Shalallahu 'alaihi wa salam said: "There is no law of cutting off the hands of thieves of fruit and date palm sap (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2593.) Hadits ke-23. حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ لاَ قَطْعَ فِي ثَمَرٍ وَلاَ كَثَرٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Hisyam bin 'Ammar], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sa'ad bin Sa'id Al Maqburi] dari [Saudaranya] dari [Ayahnya] dari [Abu Hurairah], ia berkata, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Tidak ada hukum potong tangan atas pencuri buah dan juga getah kurma (Derajat: shahih. Sumber: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2594.) 24th Hadith. God willing God willing عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنْ God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing وسلم فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يُقْطَعَ فَقَالَ صَفْوَانُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَمْ أُرِدْ هَذَا may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ فَهَلاَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي بِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. Has told us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah], has told us [Syababah] from [Malik bin Anas] from [Az Zuhri] from [Abdullah bin Shafwan], from [his father] that he was sleeping in a mosque covered in his shawl, then someone took the shawl from under his head. Then he came to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam bringing the thief's shawl. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam ordered the thief's hand to be cut off, Shafwan said; "O Messenger of Allah! I don't want this. Let my shawl be alms for him." Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Why don't you do that before you bring this problem to me (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2595.) 25th Hadith. God bless you God willing God willing مُزَيْنَةَ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ God willing فَثَمَنُهَ God bless you أَكَلَ وَلَمْ يَأْخُذْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ God willing God bless you God willing ذَلِكَ ثَمَنَ الْمِجَنِّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏. It has been told to us [Ali bin Muhammad], it has been told to us by [Abu Usamah] from [Al Walid bin Kathir] from [Amru bin Syu'aib] from [his father] from [his grandfather] that someone from Muzainah asked the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam about fruits, so he answered: "What is taken from the fruit, then he bears the price and the like. Meanwhile, for the fruit that is in the threshing place, the thief must have his hand cut off if he reaches the price of a shield. And if he only eats it and does not take it, then his hand will not be cut off. "Then he asked, "What about the goats that roam the mountains that are guarded, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam answered: "The value of them and the like are counted, and the person who takes them is punished. Meanwhile, for goats that are caged and in cages, a person's hand will be cut off if the value of the goat taken is equal to a shield (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ibnu Majah no. 2596.) 26th Hadith. Hadits ke-35. حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ دَلْهَمٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبِّقِ، قَالَ قِيلَ لأَبِي ثَابِتٍ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ حِينَ نَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْحُدُودِ وَكَانَ رَجُلاً غَيُورًا أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنَّكَ وَجَدْتَ مَعَ أُمِّ ثَابِتٍ رَجُلاً أَىَّ شَىْءٍ كُنْتَ تَصْنَعُ قَالَ كُنْتُ ضَارِبَهُمَا بِالسَّيْفِ أَنْتَظِرُ حَتَّى أَجِيءَ بِأَرْبَعَةٍ إِلَى مَا ذَاكَ قَدْ قَضَى حَاجَتَهُ وَذَهَبَ ‏.‏ أَوْ أَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَتَضْرِبُونِي الْحَدَّ وَلاَ تَقْبَلُوا لِي شَهَادَةً أَبَدًا ‏.‏ قَالَ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ ‏"‏ كَفَى بِالسَّيْفِ شَاهِدًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏"‏ لاَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَتَتَايَعَ فِي ذَلِكَ السَّكْرَانُ وَالْغَيْرَانُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَاجَهْ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ يَقُولُ هَذَا حَدِيثُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيِّ وَفَاتَنِي مِنْهُ ‏.‏.
