Welcome to the study of authentic hadith selected by ULYAH. Let's look at some of the following sayings of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, one by one, with an open heart to put them into practice. 1st Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ God willing God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God bless you رَدَدْتَهُ " . God bless you God willing God willing God bless you " . Has told me from Malik from [Zaid bin Aslam] from [Atha bin Yasar] said, "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam sent something to Umar bin Khattab, then Umar returned it. So Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam asked him: "Why did you return it?" Umar answered, "O Rasulullah, haven't you told us that the goodness of a person is not to take something from another person?" sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "The meaning of that is if he asks. If it is not by asking, then it is the rizki that Allah gives you." Umar bin Khattab said; "By the One whose soul is in His hands, I will not ask anything from anyone, and no one will give me something that I did not ask for unless I will take it (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 1849.) 2nd hadith. It has been told to me Malik from [Abu Az Zinad] from [Al A'raj] from [Abu Hurairah] that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "By the One in Whose Hand my soul is. If one of you takes his rope, then he looks for firewood and carries it on his shoulders, then that is better than going to a man who is given plenty of sustenance, then he begs him; good he is given or rejected (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 1850.) 3rd Hadith. فَتَوَلَّى الرَّجُلُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ مُغْضَبٌ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَعَمْرِي إِنَّكَ لَتُعْطِي مَنْ شِئْتَ ." may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings سَأَلَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَهُ أُوقِيَّةٌ أَوْ عَدْلُهََ إِلْحَافًا " ." It has been told to me from Malik from [Zaid bin Aslam] from [Atha bin Yasar] from [a man from Bani Asad] who said, "My wife and I stopped at Baqi' Al Gharqad, then my family said, "Meet Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, then ask for something we can eat." They then mentioned their respective needs, then I went to see Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, I found someone asking him for something. Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam answered: "I don't have anything to give you." The person left angrily, saying, "Indeed, you can give anyone you want!" " So Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "He was angry with me, because I did not have what he asked for. Whoever of you asks even though he has one uqiyyah or the equivalent of that, he has indeed asked for something by force." Al Asadi said; "Our camel which is almost giving birth is better than one 'uqiyah." Malik said; "One 'uqiyah is forty dirhams." The man from Bani As'ad then said, "I returned without asking." Then the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam was given someone flour and wheat, then he divided it for us until Allah Azza Wa Jalla suffices us (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 1851.) 4th Hadith. From Malik from [Al 'Ala` bin Abdurrahman] That he heard him say, "Wealth will not decrease because of alms, and Allah does not increase a servant who is forgiving except for glory. And not a servant is humble unless Allah raises his rank." Malik said; "I don't know whether this hadith is marfu' to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam or not (Degree: authentic. It has been told to me from Malik from [Abdullah bin Abu Bakr] from [His father] said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam appointed a man from Bani Abdul Al Asyhal as 'amil zakat. When he arrived, the man asked for a camel from the zakat. Then the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam became angry, until the anger appeared on his face. Among the signs of his anger were his eyes turned red. Then he said: "Indeed, a man asked me something that was not appropriate for me or for him. If I refuse it, I really don't like refusing (to give). If I give him, it means I am giving something that I do not deserve to receive nor does he receive." Then the person said; "O Messenger of Allah, I will not ask anything from you forever (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 1854.) 6th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing God willing God willing God bless you God willing مَا تَحْتَ إِزَارِهِ وَرُفْغَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَعْطَاكَهُ love God willing God willing يَغْسِلُونَهَا عَنْهُمْ .. Has told me from Malik from [Zaid bin Aslam] from [His father] said; [Abdurrahman bin Al Arqam] said, "Show me a riding camel that I can use to carry the Commander of the Faithful." I then said, "Yes. there is a male camel from the alms camel." Then Abdullah bin Al Arqam asked, "Would you like it if a fat man on a very hot afternoon washed what was under his sarong and his groin for you. Then he gave (the water) to you and you drank it?" Aslam said, "I was angry, then I said, "May Allah forgive you, why are you saying this to me?" Abdullah bin Arqam said; "Indeed, zakat is human dirt that they cleanse from themselves (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 1855.) 7th Hadith. It has been told to me from Malik from [Zaid bin Aslam] from [his father] that [Umar bin Khattab] employed his former slave named Hunayya to guard the border. Then 'Umar said; "O Hunayya! Restrain your hands from doing harm to humans and be afraid of the prayers of those who are persecuted. Because the prayers of those who are persecuted are answered. Enter the owners of the few camels and goats. Leave the livestock of Ibn Affan and Ibn 'Auf, if both of their livestock run out, they will return to Medina to farm and grow crops. Shepherds who have a few camels or goats, when their livestock is finished, they will come to me bringing their children, saying 'O Amirul Mu'minin! O Amirul Mu'minin! Will you abandon them? It has been told to me Malik from [Ibn Shihab] from [Muhammad bin Jabir bin Muth'im] that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said to me: "I have five names: I am Muhammad, Ahmad, Al Mahi in whom Allah has abolished disbelief with me, Al Haasyir, in whom all mankind is gathered at the soles of my feet, and Al 'Aqib (Degree: sahih. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 1858.) 9th Hadith. God willing, God willing, God willing, God willing الْخَطَّابْ Allah's blessings: " Allah's blessings God willing كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ إلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَهِجْرَتُهُ إلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ، وَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ لِدُنْيَا يُصِيبُهَا أَوْ امْرَأَةٍ يَنْكِحُهَا فَهِجْرَتُهُ إلَى مَا هَاجَرَ إلَيْهِ". may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God bless you الْبُخَارِيُّ الْجُعْفِيُّ [رقم: 1] مُسْلِمٌ بنُ الْحَجَّاج بن مُسْلِم الْقُشَيْم النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ [رقم:1907] رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي "صَحِيحَيْهِمَا" اللذَينِ هُمَا أَصَحُّ الْكُتُبِ الْمُصَنَّفَةِ. It is narrated on the authority of Amirul Mu'minin, Abu Hafs 'Umar bin al-Khattab (ra) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "Actions are (judged) by motives (niyyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration (hijrah) was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration was to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated." [Bukhari & Muslim] (Degree: authentic. Source: Arba'in An-Nawawi no. 1.) 10th Hadith. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و سلم الْإِسْلَامُ أَنْ may Allah bless him and give him peace of mind God bless you وَتَصُومَ رَمَضَانَ، وَتَحُجَّ الْبَيْتَ إنْ اسْتَطَعْت إلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا. Also on the authority of `Umar (ra) who said: While we were one day sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair. No traces of journeying were visible on him, and none of us knew him. He sat down close by the Prophet (ﷺ) rested his knees against the knees of the Prophet (ﷺ) and placed his palms over his thighs, and said: "O Muhammad! Inform me about Islam." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) replied: "Islam is that you should declare that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger (ﷺ), that you should perform salah (ritual prayer), pay the zakah, fast during Ramadan, and perform Hajj (pilgrimage) to the House (the Ka`bah at Makkah), if you can find a way to it (or find the means to make the journey to it)." He said: "You have spoken the truth." We were astonished at his thus questioning him (ﷺ) and then telling him that he was right, but he went on to say, "Inform me about Iman (faith)." He (the Prophet) answered, "It is that you believe in Allah and His angels and His Books and His Messengers and in the Last Day, and in fate (qadar), both in its good and in its evil aspects." He said, "You have spoken the truth." Then he (the man) said, "Inform me about Ihsan." He (the Prophet) answered, "It is that you should serve Allah as although you can see Him, for although you cannot see Him yet He sees you." He said, "Inform me about the Hour." He (the Prophet) said, "About that the one questioned knows no more than the questioner." So he said, "Well, inform me about the signs." He said, "They are that the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress and that you will see the barefooted ones, the naked, the destitute, the herdsmen of the sheep (competing with each other) in raising lofty buildings." Thereupon the man went off. I waited a while, and then he (the Prophet) said, "O `Umar, do you know who that questioner was?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know better." He said, "That was Jibril. He came to teach you your religion." [Muslim] (Degree: authentic. Source: Arba'in An-Nawawi no. 2.) 11th Hadith. On the authority of Abdullah, the son of Umar ibn al-Khattab (ra), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, "Islam has been built on five [pillars]: confirming that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the salah (prayer), paying the zakat (obligatory charity), making the hajj (pilgrimage) to the House, and fasting in Ramadhan." On the authority of Abdullah ibn Masood (ra), who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he is the truthful, the believed, narrated to us, “Verily the creation of each one of you is brought together in his mother's womb for forty days in the form of a nutfah (a drop), then he becomes an alaqah (clot of blood) for a like period, then a mudghah (morsel of flesh) for a like period, then there is sent to him the angel who blows his soul into him and who is commanded with four matters: to write down his rizq (sustenance), his life span, his actions, and whether he will be happy or unhappy (i.e., whether or not he will enter Paradise By the One, other than Whom there is no deity, verily one of you performs the actions of the people of Paradise until there is but an arms length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him, and so he acts with the actions of the people of the Hellfire and thus enters it; and verily one of you performs the actions of the people of the Hellfire, until there is but an arms length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him and so he acts with the actions of the people of Paradise and thus he enters it." On the authority of the mother of the faithful, Aisha (ra), who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “He who innovates something in this matter of ours (i.e., Islam) that is not of it will have it rejected (by Allah).” [Bukhari & Muslim] In another version in Muslim it reads: “He who does an act which we have not commanded, will have it rejected (by Allah).” (Degree: authentic. On the authority of an-Nu'man ibn Basheer (ra), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, "That which is lawful is clear and that which is unlawful is clear, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters [eventually] falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah's sanctuary is His prohibitions there is a morsel of flesh, which, if it be whole, all the body is whole, and which, if it is diseased, all of [the body] is truly diseased." On the authority of Tameem ibn Aus ad-Daree (ra): The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The deen (religion) is naseehah (advice, sincerity).” We said, “To whom?” He (ﷺ) said, “To Allah, His Book, His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their common people.” [Muslim] (Degree: authentic. On the authority of Abdullah ibn Umar (ra): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "I have been ordered to fight against the people until they declare that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and until they establish the salah and pay the zakat. And if they do that then they will have gained protection from me for their lives and property, unless [they commit acts that are punishable] in Islam, and their reckoning will be with Allah." On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (ra): I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, "What I have forbidden for you, avoid. What I have ordered you [to do], do as much of it as you can. For verily, it was only the excessive questioning and their disagreement with their Prophets that destroyed [the nations] who were before you." [Bukhari & Muslim] (Degree: authentic. Source: Arba'in An-Nawawi no. 9.) 18th Hadith. God willing may Allah bless him and give him peace and blessings God willing أَمَرَ بِهِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ فَقَالَ تَعَالَى: "يَا أَيُّهَا الرُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنْ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا"، text God bless you Quotes: يَا رَبِّ يَا رَبِّ! . On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (ra): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Allah the Almighty is Good and accepts only that which is good. And verily Allah has commanded the believers to do that which He has commanded the Messengers. So the Almighty has said: "O (you) Messengers! Eat of the tayyibat [all kinds of halal (legal) foods], and perform righteous deeds.” [23:51] and the Almighty has said: “O you who believe! Eat of the legal things that We have provided you.” [2:172]” Then he (ﷺ) mentioned [the case] of a man who, having journeyed far, was disheveled and dusty, and who spreads out his hands to the sky saying “O Lord! No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do.” [as-Sajdah, 16-17] Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Shall I not inform you of the head of the matter, its pillar and its peak?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is the prayer and its peak is jihad.” Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Shall I not tell you of the foundation of all of that?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” So he took hold of his tongue and said, “Restrain this.” I said, “O Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah, will we be taken to account for what we say with it?” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “May your mother be bereaved of you, O Muadh! Is there anything that throws people into the Hellfire upon their faces — or: on their noses — except the harvests of their tongues?” It was related by at-Tirmidhi, who said it was a good and sound hadeeth (Derajat: shahih. Sumber: Arba'in An-Nawawi no. 29.) Hadits ke-38. On the authority of Abu Tha’labah al-Kushanee — Jurthoom bin Nashir (may Allah be pleased with him) — that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Verily Allah ta’ala has laid down religious obligations (fara’id), so do not neglect them; and He has set limits, so do not overstep them; and He has forbidden some things, so do not violate them; and He has remained silent about some things, out of compassion for you, not forgetfulness — so do not seek after them. A hasan hadeeth narrated by ad-Daraqutnee and others (Derajat: shahih. Sumber: Arba'in An-Nawawi no. 30.) Hadits ke-39. On the authority of Abu al-’Abbas Sahl bin Sa’ad as-Sa’idee (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, direct me to an act which, if I do it, [will cause] Allah to love me and the people to love me.” So he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Renounce the world and Allah will love you, and renounce what the people possess and the people will love you.” A hasan hadeeth related by Ibn Majah and others with good chains of authorities (Derajat: shahih. Sumber: Arba'in An-Nawawi no. 31.) Hadits ke-40. On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: There should be neither harming (darar) nor reciprocating harm (dirar). A hasan hadeeth related by Ibn Majah, ad-Daraqutnee and others as a musnad hadeeth. It was also related by Malik in al-Muwatta in mursal form from Amr bin Yahya, from his father from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but leaving Abu Sa’eed from the chain. And it has other chains of narrations that strengthen one another (Derajat: shahih. Sumber: Arba'in An-Nawawi no. 32.) This is a collection of selected hadiths for this session.
