Prophet Ayyub

أَيُّوب عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام

An Example of Patience in Exams

Ayyub AS is known as a symbol of the highest patience: a rich and healthy person lost his wealth, children and health in years of trials, but never stopped giving thanks and praying to Allah with all manners. His gentle prayer — asking for healing without complaining — was answered, and Allah restored all that was lost many times over. His story is immortalized in Surah Al-Anbiya and Surah Shad.

Servants tested after the wreckage

Ayyub was a prophet from the descendants of Abraham, who was first given abundant wealth, a large family, and health. Then God tested him in tribulation: his wealth was exhausted, his children died, and his body was afflicted with diseases for many years until a man kept away from him — only his faithful wife cared for.

In the long pain, Ayyub did not denounce the fate, and his prayer was complacent, without protest, saying, "I have indeed been afflicted, and You are the Most Merciful of all the merciful." He did not ask, but only mention his condition and praised his Lord.

Healing and Better Replacement

Loss of Property and Health Test

Ayyub was a servant who was rich, healthy, and had many descendants, but Allah tested him by spending his wealth, the death of his children, and chronic illnesses all over his body. Gentle Prayer and Healing

Ayyub prayed with high etiquette, without demanding, "Indeed, I have been struck by illness, and You are the Most Merciful God among the merciful." Allah answered, "Strike your feet; this is cool water for bathing and drinking." His illness was cured, his property and family were returned double as a mercy and warning to the worshipers. He was ordered to fulfill his oath in a light manner - "and We found him a patient man; the best of servants, indeed he was very obedient."
