Prophet Noah

After centuries of human monotheism, the people of Noah began to worship the statues of their pious people: Wadd, Suwa', Yaghuts, Ya'uq, and Nasr — the names of originally pious people, then made into idols by subsequent generations. Allah sent Noah as an apostle to return them to the worship of Allah alone: ​​"O my people, worship Allah, there is no god for you but Him."

Noah preached night and day, secretly and openly, for nine hundred and fifty years. He promises Allah's forgiveness, heavy rain, wealth and children for those who repent. But his people plug their ears, pull their clothes over their heads, and persist in pride. The officials insulted that Noah's followers were just despicable people, and challenged that punishment would soon come.

When Allah revealed that there would be no believers among his people except those who had believed, Noah prayed that Allah would not allow a single unbeliever to live on earth. Allah ordered him to build an ark under His supervision and revelation. Every time the dignitaries of his people passed by, they mocked him — making the big ship far from the sea. Noah answered, "If you mock us, we will mock you as you mocked us."

When the furnace had emitted water, Noah brought into the ark a pair of each kind of creature, his family, and the believers — of whom there were only a few. Water gushed from heaven and earth, waves as high as mountains. Noah called to his son who was running away, "O my son, come up with us!" However, the child chose to take refuge in the mountains and drowned. When Noah begged for his son, Allah emphasized, "He is not one of your family; indeed his deeds are not good." The ark anchored on Judiy Hill.

Noah's wife was among the disbelievers and was destroyed; Allah makes it an example that the closeness of lineage to pious people does not save without faith. On the contrary, salvation is achieved by anyone who believes even though the whole world is against him.

Noah is an example of the longest patience in preaching in history: almost a thousand years of calling by all means without giving up. The story teaches that guidance belongs to Allah alone, the mission of the preacher is only to convey it; and that shirk often originates from excessive glorification of the pious.

After the water receded, Allah ordered, "O Nuh, come down safely and full of blessings from Us on you and on the people with you." The earth begins again with the believers; Noah is called the second father of mankind because it was from his descendants that humans reproduced. Allah made his story a good word for future generations, "Prosperity was bestowed upon Noah throughout the world."

Noah lived a very long life; The Qur'an mentions that he preached for nine hundred and fifty years. When death came, he left a legacy of monotheism and the longest example of patience. In the hadith it is stated that on the Day of Judgment Noah will be asked about the delivery of the message, and his people will testify that he has delivered it - the people of Muhammad ﷺ are witnesses to the honesty of the apostles.
