✍️ Syaikh Ahmad Al-Marzuqi Al-Maliki — died 1281H

The Nazham of the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah creed by Shaykh Ahmad Al-Marzuqi Al-Maliki (d. 1281 H), is composed in 57 verses that are easy to sing and memorize. Summarizes 50 mandatory, impossible, and jaiz characteristics for Allah and the apostles, the names of 25 prophets, angels, holy books, and the events of Isra Mikraj. Becomes the most popular reference for beginners' beliefs in the archipelago.

Chapter 1: Muqaddimah

المقدمة

Stanza 1

أَبْـدَأُ بِـاسْمِ اللهِ وَالرَّحْـمَنِ (1) وَبِالرَّحِـيْـمِ دَائـِمِ اْلإِحْـسَانِ

Translation

I (Mushonnif / Author of the Book) start with the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and Most Merciful One who always gives endless pleasure.

Stanza 2

فَالْحَـمْـدُ ِللهِ الْـقَدِيْمِ اْلأَوَّلِ (2) اَلآخِـرِ الْبَـاقـِيْ بِلاَ تَحَـوُّلِ

Translation

So all praise is due to Allah, the Most First, the Most Early, the Most Final, the Most Permanent without any change

Stanza 3

ثُمَّ الـصَّلاَةُ وَالسَّلاَمُ سَـرْمَدَا (3) عَلَى الـنَّـبِيِّ خَيْرِ مَنْ قَدْ وَحَّدَا

Translation

Then, may prayers and greetings always be poured out on the Prophet, the best person who is the one who is the Oneness of Allah

Stanza 4

وَآلِهِ وَصَـحْبِهِ وَمَـنْ تَـبِـعْ (4) سَـبِيْلَ دِيْنِ الْحَقِّ غَيْرَ مُـبْـتَدِعْ

Translation

And his family, his friends and people who follow the true path of religion are not people who commit heresy
