Imam Al-Bukhari

Muhammad bin Isma'il Al-Bukhari (194–256 H) was born in Bukhara, blind as a child, then Allah restored his sight thanks to his mother's prayers. Since childhood, his memorization has been extraordinary; he memorized hundreds of thousands of hadiths with his sanad and was called "Amirul Mukminin fil Hadith".

For sixteen years he sifted through the hadith, writing down each hadith in his Sahih only after bathing and praying two rak'ahs of istikharah. As a result, Sahih Al-Bukhari was agreed by the people as the most authentic book after the Book of Allah.

The scholars of Baghdad once tested it with a hundred hadiths in which the annads and sentences were deliberately swapped; Bukhari returned everything to its correct place without any mistakes — a testament to his astonishing precision and memorization power.

Bukhari was very wary, generous, and shunned the authorities until he was expelled from his city because he refused to teach specifically to the governor's children. He died in Khartank near Samarkand in 256 AH, leaving behind a legacy of knowledge that has preserved the sunnah throughout the ages.
