Welcome to the study of authentic hadith selected by ULYAH. Let's look at some of the following sayings of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, one by one, with an open heart to put them into practice. 1st Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يَضْرِبُ الْمُنْكَدِرَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Ibn Shihab] from [As Sa`ib bin Yazid], that he saw [Umar bin Khatthab] hit Al Munkadir for praying after the Asr prayer (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 519.) 2nd hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم غُسِّلَ فِي قَمِيصٍ .. Yahya has told me from Malik from [Ja'far bin Muhammad] from [his father], that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam was bathed wearing a piece of clothing (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 520.) 3rd Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ أَبِي تَمِيمَةَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ الأَنْصَارِيَّةِ، قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ تُوُفِّيَتِ ابْنَتُهُ فَقَالَ " اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلاَثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ ذَلِكَ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُنَّ فَآذِنَّنِي " . قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا فَرَغْنَا آذَنَّاهُ فَأَعْطَانَا حِقْوَهُ فَقَالَ " أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ " . تَعْنِي بِحِقْوِهِ إِزَارَهُ .. It has been told to me Malik from [Ayyub bin Abu Tamimah As Sahtiyani] from [Muhammad bin Sirin] from [Ummu 'Atiyah Al Anshariyah] said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam met us when a daughter of his died. He said: "Bathe her three times, or five times, or more than that, it's up to you with water and bidara. And finish with camphor or something similar. And when it's finished, let me know." Umm 'Atiyah Al Ansariyah said, "When we finished, we called him. He then gave us his sarong and said: "Wrap it in this." The meaning is sarong (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 521.) 4th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ، قَالَ لِعَائِشَةَ وَهُوَ مَرِيضٌ فِي كَمْ كُفِّنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ فِي ثَلاَثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ بِيضٍ سَحُولِيَّةٍ . فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ خُذُوا هَذَا الثَّوْبَ - لِثَوْبٍ عَلَيْهِ قَدْ أَصَابَهُ مِشْقٌ أَوْ زَعْفَرَانٌ - فَاغْسِلُوهُ ثُمَّ كَفِّنُونِي فِيهِ مَعَ ثَوْبَيْنِ آخَرَيْنِ . فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ وَمَا هَذَا فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَىُّ أَحْوَجُ إِلَى الْجَدِيدِ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَإِنَّمَا هَذَا لِلْمُهْلَةِ .. Has told me from Malik from [Yahya bin Said] that he said; It has come to me that [Abu Bakar Ash-Siddiq] asked Aisyah when she felt sick, 'In how many pieces of cloth was the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam shrouded? Shroud me with it and two other pieces of cloth." Aisyah asked, "What is this! " Abu Bakr answered; "People who are still alive need new things more than people who have died. This is only for pus flowing from the body (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 525.) 5th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُقَمَّصُ وَيُؤَزَّرُ وَيُلَفُّ فِي الثَّوْبِ الثَّالِثِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ إِلاَّ ثَوْبٌ وَاحِدٌ كُفِّنَ فِيهِ .. It has been related to me from Malik from [Ibn Shihab] from [Humaid bin Abdurrahman bin Auf] from [Abdullah bin 'Amru bin Al Abdush Shamad] that he said, "The corpse was wrapped and covered and packed with three pieces of cloth. If there is nothing but one sheet, then there is nothing wrong with it (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 526.) 6th Hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ كَانُوا يَمْشُونَ أَمَامَ الْجَنَازَةِ وَالْخُلَفَاءُ هَلُمَّ جَرًّا وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ .. Yahya has told me from Malik from [Ibn Shihab], that Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, [Abu Bakr] and [Umar] walked in front of the body. Likewise the next Caliphs, including [Abdullah bin 'Umar] (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 527.) 7th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ رِبِيعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْهَدِيرِ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، رَأَى عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يَقْدُمُ النَّاسَ أَمَامَ الْجَنَازَةِ فِي جَنَازَةِ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ .. It has been told to me Malik from [Muhammad bin Al Munkadir] from [Rabi'ah bin Al Hudair] that he informed him that he saw [Umar bin Khatthab] precede the people in front of the body when carrying the body of Zainab bint Jahsy (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 528.) 8th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، قَالَ مَا رَأَيْتُ أَبِي قَطُّ فِي جَنَازَةٍ إِلاَّ أَمَامَهَا - قَالَ - ثُمَّ يَأْتِي الْبَقِيعَ فَيَجْلِسُ حَتَّى يَمُرُّوا عَلَيْهِ .. It has been told to me that Yahya from Malik from [Hisyam bin Urwah] said, "I never saw [my father] at all except in front of the corpse." Hisham said again, "My father arrived at Baqi' and sat down, until the people passed him (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 529.) 9th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْمَشْىُ خَلْفَ الْجَنَازَةِ مِنْ خَطَإِ السُّنَّةِ .. Has told me from Malik from [Ibn Shihab] said, "Walking behind a corpse is contrary to the sunnah (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 530.) 10th Hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لأَهْلِهَا أَجْمِرُوا ثِيَابِي إِذَا مِتُّ ثُمَّ حَنِّطُونِي وَلاَ تَذُرُّوا عَلَى كَفَنِي حِنَاطًا وَلاَ تَتْبَعُونِي بِنَارٍ .. Has told me Yahya from Malik from [Hisyam bin Urwah] from [Asma` bint Abu Bakr] that he said to his family; "Give my cloth perfume when I die. Sprinkle hanuth (corpse perfume) on my body. Don't miss the hanuth for my shroud. Do not accompany me carrying fire (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 531.) 11th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ نَهَى أَنْ يُتْبَعَ، بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ بِنَارٍ . قَالَ يَحْيَى سَمِعْتُ مَالِكًا يَكْرَهُ ذَلِكَ .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Sa'id bin Abu Sa'id Al Maqburi] from [Abu Hurairah] that he forbade lighting a fire after his death." Yahya said, "I have heard Malik condemn it (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 532.) 12th Hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَعَى النَّجَاشِيَّ لِلنَّاسِ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ وَخَرَجَ بِهِمْ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَصَفَّ بِهِمْ وَكَبَّرَ أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ .. Yahya has told me from Malik from [Ibn Shihab] from [Sa'id bin Musayyab] from [Abu Hurairah] that Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam conveyed the news of Najasyi's death to the people on the day of his death. He went out with them to the place of prayer, then arranged them in rows. Then say takbir four times (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 533.) 13th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ مِسْكِينَةً مَرِضَتْ فَأُخْبِرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم - بِمَرَضِهَا وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَعُودُ الْمَسَاكِينَ وَيَسْأَلُ عَنْهُمْ - فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِذَا مَاتَتْ فَآذِنُونِي بِهَا " . فَخُرِجَ بِجَنَازَتِهَا لَيْلاً فَكَرِهُوا أَنْ يُوقِظُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أُخْبِرَ بِالَّذِي كَانَ مِنْ شَأْنِهَا فَقَالَ " أَلَمْ آمُرْكُمْ أَنْ تُؤْذِنُونِي بِهَا " . فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَرِهْنَا أَنْ نُخْرِجَكَ لَيْلاً وَنُوقِظَكَ . فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَتَّى صَفَّ بِالنَّاسِ عَلَى قَبْرِهَا وَكَبَّرَ أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ .. It was told to me from Malik from [Ibnu Shihab] from [Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif] that he reported that there was a poor woman who was sick. This was then reported to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam. And Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam used to visit poor people and ask about their condition. Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "If he dies, call me." The poor woman's body was left at night and they did not have the heart to wake the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam. In the morning, Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam was informed about what had happened. He asked: "Didn't I tell you to call me when he died?" They answered; "O Messenger of Allah, we don't feel like taking you out and waking you up at night." Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam came out with several people and on his grave, he then said takbir four times (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 534.) 14th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ، يُدْرِكُ بَعْضَ التَّكْبِيرِ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ وَيَفُوتُهُ بَعْضُهُ فَقَالَ يَقْضِي مَا فَاتَهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ .. It was told to me from Malik that he asked [Ibn Shihab] about someone who had left out part of the takbir in the funeral prayer. He answered; "He must complete what is left behind (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 535.) 15th Hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَيْفَ تُصَلِّي عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَا لَعَمْرُ اللَّهِ، أُخْبِرُكَ أَتَّبِعُهَا، مِنْ أَهْلِهَا فَإِذَا وُضِعَتْ كَبَّرْتُ وَحَمِدْتُ اللَّهَ وَصَلَّيْتُ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ ثُمَّ أَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَابْنُ أَمَتِكَ كَانَ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ وَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ مُحْسِنًا فَزِدْ فِي إِحْسَانِهِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُسِيئًا فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْ سَيِّئَاتِهِ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ وَلاَ تَفْتِنَّا بَعْدَهُ .. Yahya has told me from Malik from [Sa'id bin Abu Sa'id Al Maqburi] from [his father] that he asked Abu Hurairah 'How do you pray the corpse?' [Abu Hurairah] said, "By Allah, I will inform you. I have followed him since I was in his family. When the body was placed, I said takbir, praising Allah and offering blessings on His Prophet. Then I read: 'O Allah. He is Your servant and the son of Your servant, also the son of Your female servant, he testifies that there is no god except You. Testifies that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger. You know better about him. O Allah, if he does good then increase his goodness, and if he commits a sin then forgive his mistake. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not slander us afterwards (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 536.) 16th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ، يَقُولُ صَلَّيْتُ وَرَاءَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى صَبِيٍّ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ خَطِيئَةً قَطُّ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ .. It has been related to me from Malik from [Yahya bin Said] that he said, I have heard [Sa'id bin Musayyab] say, "I prayed behind [Abu Hurairah] when praying for a small child who had not done anything wrong. I heard him read: 'ALLAHUMMA A'IDZHU MIN 'ADZAABILQABRI (O Allah, protect him from the punishment of the grave) (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 537.) 17th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ لاَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Nafi'] that [Abdullah bin Umar] did not recite (al fatihah) in the funeral prayer (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 538.) 18th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي حَرْمَلَةَ، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُوَيْطِبٍ أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، تُوُفِّيَتْ - وَطَارِقٌ أَمِيرُ الْمَدِينَةِ - فَأُتِيَ بِجَنَازَتِهَا بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ فَوُضِعَتْ بِالْبَقِيعِ . قَالَ وَكَانَ طَارِقٌ يُغَلِّسُ بِالصُّبْحِ . قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي حَرْمَلَةَ فَسَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ لأَهْلِهَا إِمَّا أَنْ تُصَلُّوا عَلَى جَنَازَتِكُمُ الآنَ وَإِمَّا أَنْ تَتْرُكُوهَا حَتَّى تَرْتَفِعَ الشَّمْسُ .. Yahya has told me from Malik from [Muhammad bin Abu Harmalah] a former slave of Abdurrahman bin Abu Sufyan bin Huwaithib, that Zainab bint Abu Salamah died. At that time Tariq was governor of Medina. Zainab's body was then brought before him after the morning prayer, then placed in the Baqi'." Muhammad bin Abu Harmalah said, "Thariq performed the morning prayer while it was still very dark." He added, "I heard [Abdullah bin 'Umar] say to his family; 'You can pray for your corpse now, or you can leave it until the sun rises (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 539.) 19th hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، قَالَ يُصَلَّى عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ وَبَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ إِذَا صُلِّيَتَا لِوَقْتِهِمَا .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Nafi'] that [Abdullah bin Umar] said, "The body may be prayed after Asr and Fajr, if both prayers have been performed in due time (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 540.) 20th hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهَا أَمَرَتْ أَنْ يُمَرَّ عَلَيْهَا بِسَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ حِينَ مَاتَ لِتَدْعُوَ لَهُ فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ مَا أَسْرَعَ النَّاسَ مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى سُهَيْلِ ابْنِ بَيْضَاءَ إِلاَّ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ .. Yahya has told me from Malik from [Abu Nadlr] the former slave of 'Umar bin 'Ubaidullah, from [Aisyah] the wife of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, that he ordered people to take the body of Sa'd bin Abu Waqash, if he had died, to the mosque, so that 'Aisyah could pray for him. But the people rejected it, Aisyah then said, "How quickly people (forget)! Didn't Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam pray for Suhail bin Baidla's body except in the mosque (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 541.) 21st Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ صُلِّيَ عَلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ .. It has been related to me from Malik from [Nafi'] from [Abdullah bin Umar], that he said, "Umar bin Khatthab was offered prayers in the mosque (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 542.) 22nd Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى عَلَى الْجَنَائِزِ يُسَلِّمُ حَتَّى يُسْمِعَ مَنْ يَلِيهِ .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Nafi'] that if [Abdullah bin Umar] prays for a corpse, he recites the greeting until those behind him hear (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 544.) 23rd Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ يَقُولُ لاَ يُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ إِلاَّ وَهُوَ طَاهِرٌ . قَالَ يَحْيَى سَمِعْتُ مَالِكًا يَقُولُ لَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُصَلَّى عَلَى وَلَدِ الزِّنَا وَأُمِّهِ .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Nafi'] that [Abdullah bin Umar] said, "Let no one pray a dead body unless he is pure (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 545.) 24th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلاَنِ أَحَدُهُمَا يَلْحَدُ وَالآخَرُ لاَ يَلْحَدُ فَقَالُوا أَيُّهُمَا جَاءَ أَوَّلُ عَمِلَ عَمَلَهُ . فَجَاءَ الَّذِي يَلْحَدُ فَلَحَدَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Hisyam bin Urwah] that from [his father] he said, "There were two people in Medina, one of whom used to make lahat holes (holes that are made on the side of the hole, not in the middle) and the other did not. They said, "The one who comes first and does it is the one who will be used." The person who dug by lahat came along, then he made a lahat hole for the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 547.) 25th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَتْ رَأَيْتُ ثَلاَثَةَ أَقْمَارٍ سَقَطْنَ فِي حُجْرَتِي فَقَصَصْتُ رُؤْيَاىَ عَلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَدُفِنَ فِي بَيْتِهَا قَالَ لَهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ هَذَا أَحَدُ أَقْمَارِكِ وَهُوَ خَيْرُهَا .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Yahya bin Said] that [Aisyah] the wife of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said, "I dreamed that three moons fell in my room. Then I told my dream to Abu Bakr Ash Siddiq." Abu Bakr then said, "When Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam died and was buried in his house, Abu Bakr said, 'This is one of the moons that you saw, and this is the best of the three (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 549.) 26th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أُدْفَنَ، بِالْبَقِيعِ لأَنْ أُدْفَنَ بِغَيْرِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُدْفَنَ بِهِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ أَحَدُ رَجُلَيْنِ إِمَّا ظَالِمٌ فَلاَ أُحِبُّ أَنْ أُدْفَنَ مَعَهُ وَإِمَّا صَالِحٌ فَلاَ أُحِبُّ أَنْ تُنْبَشَ لِي عِظَامُهُ .. It was told to me from Malik from [Hisyam bin Urwah] from [his father] that he said, "I don't like being buried in Baqi'. Being buried in another place is more preferable to me than being buried there. Because there are two kinds of people buried there: unjust people so I don't want to be buried with them, or righteous people so I don't want their bones to be dug up for me (to fill the holes) (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 551.) 27th Hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَقُومُ فِي الْجَنَائِزِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ بَعْدُ .. It has been told to me by Yahya from Malik from [Yahya bin Sa'id] from [Waqid bin 'Amru bin Mu'adz] from [Nafi' bin Jubair bin Muth'im] from [Mas'ud bin Al Hakam] from [Ali bin Abu Talib] that Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam stood when a body (passed by), then after that he sat down (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 552.) 28th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ بْنَ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، يَقُولُ كُنَّا نَشْهَدُ الْجَنَائِزَ فَمَا يَجْلِسُ آخِرُ النَّاسِ حَتَّى يُؤْذَنُوا .. Has told me from Malik from [Abu Bakr bin 'Uthman bin Sahl bin Hunaif] that he heard [Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif] say, "We once attended a funeral. No one sat down until the last person (to arrive) was allowed (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 554.) 29th Hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ، عَنْ عَتِيكِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، - وَهُوَ جَدُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ أَبُو أُمِّهِ - أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَتِيكٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَاءَ يَعُودُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ فَوَجَدَهُ قَدْ غُلِبَ عَلَيْهِ فَصَاحَ بِهِ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ فَاسْتَرْجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَالَ " غُلِبْنَا عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا الرَّبِيعِ " . فَصَاحَ النِّسْوَةُ وَبَكَيْنَ فَجَعَلَ جَابِرٌ يُسَكِّتُهُنَّ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " دَعْهُنَّ فَإِذَا وَجَبَ فَلاَ تَبْكِيَنَّ بَاكِيَةٌ " . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْوُجُوبُ قَالَ " إِذَا مَاتَ " . فَقَالَتِ ابْنَتُهُ وَاللَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُ لأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونَ شَهِيدًا فَإِنَّكَ كُنْتَ قَدْ قَضَيْتَ جِهَازَكَ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَوْقَعَ أَجْرَهُ عَلَى قَدْرِ نِيَّتِهِ وَمَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهَادَةَ " . قَالُوا الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " الشُّهَدَاءُ سَبْعَةٌ سِوَى الْقَتْلِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الْمَطْعُونُ شَهِيدٌ وَالْغَرِقُ شَهِيدٌ وَصَاحِبُ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ شَهِيدٌ وَالْمَبْطُونُ شَهِيدٌ وَالْحَرِقُ شَهِيدٌ وَالَّذِي يَمُوتُ تَحْتَ الْهَدْمِ شَهِيدٌ وَالْمَرْأَةُ تَمُوتُ بِجُمْعٍ شَهِيدٌ " .. Yahya has told me from Malik from [Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Jabir bin 'Atik] from ['Atik bin Al Harith], namely Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Jabir's grandfather, his mother's father, reported to him that [Jabir bin 'Atik] reported that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam had visited Abdullah bin Thabit. He found him dying. He called him, but he did not answer. Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam read istirja' and said: "You have gone ahead of us, O Abu Ar Rabi'." The women screamed and cried, while Jabir tried to silence them. Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam then said: "Just let them be. If that should happen, let no one cry over him." People asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what must happen?" He answered; "If he dies." His daughter said, "By Allah, I hope he dies as a martyr. Now you have completed your task." Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Allah has given his reward according to his intention. What do you call a martyr?" They answered; "Killed in the way of Allah." The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "There are seven types of martyrs apart from being killed in the way of Allah; If someone dies due to tha'un disease then he is a martyr. A person who dies by drowning is a martyr. A person who dies due to smallpox or boils is a martyr. A person who dies due to a stomach ailment is a martyr. People who burn to death are martyrs. A person who dies due to being hit by rubble is a martyr. A woman who dies due to childbirth is a martyr (Degree: shahih. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 555.) 30th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا، سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، تَقُولُ وَذُكِرَ لَهَا أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَىِّ . فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكْذِبْ وَلَكِنَّهُ نَسِيَ أَوْ أَخْطَأَ إِنَّمَا مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِيَهُودِيَّةٍ يَبْكِي عَلَيْهَا أَهْلُهَا فَقَالَ " إِنَّكُمْ لَتَبْكُونَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنَّهَا لَتُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهَا " .. It has been told to me from Malik from [Abdullah bin Abu Bakr] from [his father] from ['Amrah bint Abdurrahman] he reported to him, that he heard [Aisyah] when it was mentioned to him, that [Abdullah bin Umar] said 'The corpse was tortured because the cry was still alive.' Aisyah said, "May Allah forgive Abu Abdurrahman. In fact, he did not lie, but he forgot or made a mistake. Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam passed by the body of a Jewish woman whose family was crying, then he said: 'You are crying for her. She is being tortured in her grave (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 556.) 31st Hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ يَمُوتُ لأَحَدٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ثَلاَثَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ فَتَمَسَّهُ النَّارُ إِلاَّ تَحِلَّةَ الْقَسَمِ " .. It has been told to me by Yahya from Malik from [Ibn Shihab] from [Sa'id bin Musayyab] from [Abu Hurairah], that Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "A muslim who has lost three of his children will certainly not be touched by the fire of hell except for a moment (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 557.) 32nd Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ السَّلَمِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ يَمُوتُ لأَحَدٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ثَلاَثَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ فَيَحْتَسِبُهُمْ إِلاَّ كَانُوا جُنَّةً مِنَ النَّارِ " . فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَوِ اثْنَانِ قَالَ " أَوِ اثْنَانِ " .. It has been told to me Malik from [Muhammad bin Abu Bakr bin 'Amru bin Hazm] from [his father] from [Abu Nadlr As Salami], that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "It is not a muslim person who is left to die by three of his children, then he is patient and hopes for a reward unless they will become a shield from the fire of hell." Then a woman who was at the side of Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam asked, "O Rasulullah, how about two?" Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam answered; "Likewise if two (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 558.) 33rd Hadith. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لِيُعَزِّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي مَصَائِبِهِمُ الْمُصِيبَةُ بِي " .. Yahya has told me from Malik from [Abdurrahman bin Al Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr], that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Let the muslim people be honored by the disaster that befell them as the disaster that befell me (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 560.) 34th Hadith. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ أَصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ فَقَالَ كَمَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ (إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ) اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَعْقِبْنِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا إِلَّا فَعَلَ اللَّهُ ذَلِكَ بِهِ قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ قُلْتُ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ قُلْتُ وَمَنْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فَأَعْقَبَهَا اللَّهُ رَسُولَهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتَزَوَّجَهَا. It has been told to me from Malik from [Rabi'ah bin Abu Abdurrahman] from [Ummu Salamah] the wife of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Whoever is struck by a disaster then he reads as commanded by Allah: 'INNAA LILLAHI WA INNAA ILAIHI RAAJI'UUN ALLAHUMMA`JURNII FI MUSHIIBATII WA A'QIBNII KHAIRAN MINHAA', (Indeed we all belong to Allah, and will return to Him. O Allah, reward me for the misfortune that befell me and replace it with something better than it),' unless Allah really will do it." Umm Salamah said, "When Abu Salamah died, I said this prayer. Then I said to myself; 'Who is better than Abu Salamah.' But then Allah replaced him with the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam. Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam then married her (Degree: authentic. Source: Muwatta Malik no. 561.) Hadits ke-35. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ هَلَكَتِ امْرَأَةٌ لِي فَأَتَانِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيُّ يُعَزِّينِي بِهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ رَجُلٌ فَقِيهٌ عَالِمٌ عَابِدٌ مُجْتَهِدٌ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ - وَكَانَ بِهَا مُعْجَبًا وَلَهَا مُحِبًّا - فَمَاتَتْ فَوَجَدَ عَلَيْهَا وَجْدًا شَدِيدًا وَلَقِيَ عَلَيْهَا أَسَفًا حَتَّى خَلاَ فِي بَيْتٍ وَغَلَّقَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَاحْتَجَبَ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ وَإِنَّ امْرَأَةً سَمِعَتْ بِهِ فَجَاءَتْهُ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ لِي إِلَيْهِ حَاجَةً أَسْتَفْتِيهِ فِيهَا لَيْسَ يُجْزِينِي فِيهَا إِلاَّ مُشَافَهَتُهُ فَذَهَبَ النَّاسُ وَلَزِمَتْ بَابَهُ وَقَالَتْ مَا لِي مِنْهُ بُدٌّ . فَقَالَ لَهُ قَائِلٌ إِنَّ هَا هُنَا امْرَأَةً أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَسْتَفْتِيَكَ وَقَالَتْ إِنْ أَرَدْتُ إِلاَّ مُشَافَهَتَهُ وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ النَّاسُ وَهِيَ لاَ تُفَارِقُ الْبَابَ . فَقَالَ ائْذَنُوا لَهَا . فَدَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي جِئْتُكَ أَسْتَفْتِيكَ فِي أَمْرٍ . قَالَ وَمَا هُوَ قَالَتْ إِنِّي اسْتَعَرْتُ مِنْ جَارَةٍ لِي حَلْيًا فَكُنْتُ أَلْبَسُهُ وَأُعِيرُهُ زَمَانًا ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ أَرْسَلُوا إِلَىَّ فِيهِ أَفَأُؤَدِّيهِ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ وَاللَّهِ . فَقَالَتْ إِنَّهُ قَدْ مَكَثَ عِنْدِي زَمَانًا . فَقَالَ ذَلِكَ أَحَقُّ لِرَدِّكِ إِيَّاهُ إِلَيْهِمْ حِينَ أَعَارُوكِيهِ زَمَانًا . فَقَالَتْ أَىْ يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ أَفَتَأْسَفُ عَلَى مَا أَعَارَكَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَهُ مِنْكَ وَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ مِنْكَ فَأَبْصَرَ مَا كَانَ فِيهِ وَنَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِقَوْلِهَا .. Telah menceritakan kepadaku dari Malik dari [Yahya bin Said] dari [Al Qasim bin Muhammad] bahwa dia berkata, "Isteriku meninggal dunia. Lalu [Muhammad bin Ka'b Al Qurazhi] berta'ziyah kepadaku dan dia bercerita; 'Dulu di kalangan Bani Isra`il ada seorang laki-laki yang faqih, 'alim, 'abid dan mujtahid. Dia mempunyai seorang isteri yang dia cintai dan dia kagumi. Suatu ketika isterinya meninggal dunia, sehingga dia sangat terpukul dan sedih. Dia mengurung dirinya dan mengasingkan diri dari manusia. Tidak seorangpun yang masuk menemuinya. Lalu ada seorang wanita yang mendengar peristiwa tersebut, lalu wanita itu mendatanginya. Wanita itu berkata, "Aku ada perlu dengannya. Aku ingin meminta fatwanya. Aku tidak akan pernah puas hingga berbicara dengannya secara langsung." Orang-orang pun pergi meninggalkannya, namun dia tetap berada di depan pintu menunggunya dan berkata, "Aku tidak akan pergi sama sekali." Ada seseorang yang berkata pada orang bani Isra`il tersebut; "Di sini ada seorang wanita yang ingin meminta fatwamu, dan dia berkata, "Aku tidak mau kecuali berbicara dengannya secara langsung." Orang-orang telah pergi meninggalkannya, sedang dia tetap tidak meninggalkan pintu rumahmu. Orang tersebut berkata, "Ijinkan dia masuk." Wanita itupun masuk dan berkata, "Aku menemuimu untuk meminta fatwa atas suatu urusan." Orang itupun bertanya, "Apa itu?" Wanita tersebut berkata, "Aku meminjam perhiasan dari tetanggaku. Aku pun mengenakannya dan meminjamnya untuk beberapa waktu. Kemudian mereka mengutus utusan kepadaku untuk memintanya, apakah aku harus mengembalikannya?" Orang tersebut menjawab, "Ya." Wanita itu berkata lagi; "Demi Allah aku telah memakainya beberapa waktu." Orang tersebut berkata, "Begitulah, mereka berhak untuk menariknya kembali darimu setelah meminjamkannya padamu beberapa waktu." Wanita itu berkata, "Baiklah, semoga Allah merahmatimu. Apakah engkau juga tidak rela atas apa yang dipinjamkan Allah padamu, lalu Dia mengambilnya kembali. Padahal Dia lebih berhak atasnya dari dirimu." Maka sadarlah orang tersebut atas apa yang telah terjadi. Allah memberikan manfaat atasnya dengan perkataan wanita tersebut (Derajat: shahih. Sumber: Muwatta Malik no. 562.) Hadits ke-36. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ، مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ، عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهَا تَقُولُ، لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْمُخْتَفِيَ وَالْمُخْتَفِيَةَ يَعْنِي نَبَّاشَ الْقُبُورِ .. Telah menceritakan kepadaku Yahya dari Malik dari [Abu Rijal Muhammad bin Abdurrahman] dari Ibunya ['Amrah binti Abdurrahman] bahwasanya dia mendengarnya, berkata, "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam melaknat Al mukhtafi dan Al mukhtafiyah, yaitu orang yang mencuri sesuatu dari kuburan (Derajat: shahih. Hadits ke-37. حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ وَهُوَ مُسْتَنِدٌ إِلَى صَدْرِهَا وَأَصْغَتْ إِلَيْهِ يَقُولُ " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالرَّفِيقِ الأَعْلَى " .. Telah menceritakan kepadaku dari Malik dari [Hisyam bin Urwah] dari ['Abbad Abdullah bin Az Zubair] bahwa [Aisyah] isteri Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam mengabarkan kepadanya, bahwa ia mendengar Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda, yaitu saat sebelum beliau meninggal dan bersandar pada dadanya, beliau berdoa: "ALLAHUMMAAGHFIRLII WARHAMNII WA ALHIQNII BIRRAFiiQIL A'lAA (Ya Allah, ampuni dan rahmatilah aku, serta pertemukanlah aku dengan Ar Rafiqul A'la) (Derajat: shahih. Hadits ke-38. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا مَاتَ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ مَقْعَدُهُ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَمِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ هَذَا مَقْعَدُكَ حَتَّى يَبْعَثَكَ اللَّهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " .. Telah menceritakan kepadaku dari Malik dari [Nafi'] bahwa [Abdullah bin 'Umar] berkata, "Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Jika salah seorang dari kalian meninggal dunia, maka akan ditampakkan baginya tempat tinggalnya setiap pagi dan sore. Jika dia termasuk penduduk surga, akan ditampakkan surga baginya. Jika dia termasuk penduduk neraka, akan ditampakkan neraka baginya. Dikatakan padanya; 'Ini adalah tempat tinggalmu hingga Allah menghidupkanmu kembali pada Hari Kiamat (Derajat: shahih. Sumber: Muwatta Malik no. 567.) Hadits ke-39. وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ تَأْكُلُهُ الأَرْضُ إِلاَّ عَجْبَ الذَّنَبِ مِنْهُ خُلِقَ وَفِيهِ يُرَكَّبُ " .. Telah menceritakan kepadaku dari Malik dari [Abu Az Zinad] dari [Al A'raj] dari [Abu Hurairah], bahwa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Setiap anak Adam yang meninggal dunia, seluruh tulangnya akan habis dimakan tanah kecuali tulang ekornya.
