Prophet Idris

إِدْرِيس عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام

Prophets Before Noah

Idris AS is known as a prophet who lived long before the Prophet Noah, who is referred to in the Koran as an honest and high-ranking figure (Surah Maryam). The Islamic scientific tradition links it with the beginnings of writing and wisdom, making it a symbol of firmness of faith combined with a love of knowledge. He is described as a servant who is patient and always grateful in an era that is far from guidance.

In the Qur’an, Idris is referred to with Ismail and Dzulkifli: “They are all of those who are patient, and We have entered them into Our mercy, surely they are of those who are righteous.”
