كتاب «رحلة السيرافي» لأبي زيد حسن بن يزيد السيرافي هو نص أدبي يجمع بين السرد الجغرافي والاقتصادي لتجربة تاجر من ميناء السيراف إلى الصين. يشتمل على وصف للبحار التي تفصل الهند والسند وجزر مثل جزيرة ملجان، ويستعرض عادات وشعوب الهند والصين من حيث الملوك والطقوس التجارية والدفن. يبرز الكتاب كذلك تفاصيل الجبال والأنهار والحيوانات التي مرّ بها المسافر، مع إشارة إلى طرق التجارة البحرية بين الخليج العربي وبلاد الشرق. يُعَدّ هذا العمل مرجعاً في تصنيف البلدان والجغرافيا والرحلات، حيث يجمع بين الملاحظة الميدانية والقصص المتداولة عن التجار العرب والفرس.
Translation
The book “The Journey of the Serafi” by Abu Zaid Hasan bin Yazid al-Serafi is a literary text that combines geographical and economic narration of the experience of a merchant from the port of Seraph to China. It includes a description of the seas that separate India and Indus and islands such as Muljan Island, and reviews the customs and peoples of India and China in terms of kings, commercial rituals, and burials. The book also highlights the details of the mountains, rivers, and animals that the traveler passed through, with reference to the maritime trade routes between the Arabian Gulf and the countries of the East. This work is considered a reference in the classification of countries, geography, and travel, as it combines field observation with narrated stories about Arab and Persian merchants.
