The book “Al-Tanbih fi Al-Shafi’i Jurisprudence” by Abu Ishaq Al-Shirazi is a brief text on the jurisprudence of the Shafi’i school of thought. It begins with the book of purity, covering the rulings on water, utensils, the siwak, ablution, washing, and tayammum. Then it moves to the book of prayer to include its timings, the rulings on the call to prayer, the description of prayer, its obligations, its sunnahs, and what is related to it, such as prostration of forgetfulness, recitation, and congregational prayer. The book presents jurisprudential issues in a concise manner, mentioning the differences and preferences within the school of thought, making it an educational reference for beginners in the study of Shafi’i jurisprudence.
