المجموع شرح المهذب ألفه الإمام محيي الدين النووي، حيث شرح كتاب: «المهذب في الفقه الشافعي» للشيخ أبي إسحاق الشيرازي الفقيه الأصولي المعروف. قال السيوطي في «الحاوي»: إنه ألّفه على منوال «المغني» لابن قدامة الحنبلي، ولقد قيل: إنه لو اجتمع صاحب المغني وصاحب المجموع على مسألة فهو الحق الذي يغلب على الظن صوابه، وكان النووي من أئمة المحدثين، فصان كتابه عن الأحاديث الموضوعة، وبين ضعف الأحاديث الضعيفة.

Translation

Al-Majmu’ Sharh al-Muhadhdhab was written by Imam Muhyiddin al-Nawawi, in which he explained the book: “Al-Muhadhdhab in Shafi’i Jurisprudence” by Sheikh Abu Ishaq al-Shirazi, the well-known fundamentalist jurist. Al-Suyuti said in “Al-Hawi”: He composed it in the style of “Al-Mughni” by Ibn Qudamah Al-Hanbali, and it has been said: If the author of Al-Mughni and the author of Al-Majmu’ agree on an issue, then it is the truth whose correctness is most likely. Al-Nawawi was one of the imams of hadith scholars, so he preserved his book from fabricated hadiths, and pointed out the weakness of weak hadiths.
