Translation
The book “Tahdhib al-Athar” by Imam al-Tabari is a work on general jurisprudence, and this missing part of it deals with the continuation of the Musnad of the companion Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, may God be pleased with him. The book is concerned with collecting the Prophetic hadiths reported by the Companions and explaining their methods, with a focus on verifying the chains of transmission and discussing the differences in the narrations. It also addresses jurisprudential issues such as the rulings on swearing an oath in Islam and pre-Islamic times, and the rulings on forgetfulness in prayer, reviewing the opinions of the Companions and followers on that matter.
