About this work
هذا كتاب لغويّ يندرج تحت تصنيف الغريب والمعاجم ولغة الفقه، وقد وضعه مؤلفه الكوكبانيّ ليكون بمثابة مقدمة لـ"القاموس المحيط" للفيروزآبادي، يشرح فيه الاصطلاحات الصرفية واللغوية التي يحتاج إليها الناظر في القاموس وغيره من كتب اللغة. ينتظم الكتاب في مقدمة ومقصدين وخاتمة، حيث تتناول المقدمة سند القاموس وترجمة مؤلفه وتاريخ نشأة اللغة العربية وتطورها، بينما تتطرق المقاصد إلى موضوعات صرفية كأوزان الأسماء والمصادر والمشتقات.
Translation
This is a linguistic book that falls under the classification of strangers, dictionaries, and the language of jurisprudence. Its author, Al-Kawkabani, wrote it as an introduction to Al-Qamoos Al-Muhit by Al-Fayrouzabadi, in which he explains the morphological and linguistic conventions that the reader needs in the dictionary and other language books. The book is organized into an introduction, two objectives, and a conclusion. The introduction deals with the basis of the dictionary, the translation of its author, and the history of the emergence and development of the Arabic language, while the objectives address morphological topics such as the weights of nouns, infinitives, and derivatives.
