Translation

The book “Kifayat al-Mutahzaf wa Nihayat al-Mutalafiq” by Ibn al-Ajdabi is a linguistic dictionary specialized in Arabic words, collecting the language’s vocabulary according to an objective classification. The book is organized into chapters and sections covering the characteristics of men and women, the names of husbands and women’s adornments, the life stages of humans, camels and horses, parts of swords and spears, types of wild animals, plants, flowers, milk, and other topics. Through it, the author aims to provide the reader with the vocabulary of the classical Arabic language in various fields, while briefly explaining its meanings, making it a useful reference in the study of foreign language and the language of jurisprudence.
