Mukhtar Al-Sahah

Mukhtar al-Sihah was written by Muhammad bin Abi Bakr bin Abdul Qadir al-Razi. He had shortened it from Taj al-Lughah and Sihah al-Arabiya, leaving the arrangement of its entries according to the traditional order, that is, starting with the letters of the last words. Mukhtar Al-Sahhah's dictionary was distinguished by its many references to weak, bad, and Arabized words, mentioning rare words and opposites, and its attention to aspects of morphology such as derivation, substitution, and causation. Mukhtar Al-Sahhah’s dictionary was first published in two volumes by the Egyptian Boulaq Press in 1865, and the second edition was published in 1957, edited by Ahmed Abdel Ghafour Attar. …
