علل الترمذي الكبير هو أحد كتب الحديث، ألفه أبو عيسى محمد الترمذي (209 هـ-279 هـ)، الكتاب هو عبارة عن عدة أحاديث يرويها الإمام الترمذي بأسانيده، ثم يعقبها بالحكم على كل حديث منها إما بكلامه وإما بكلام شيوخة الذين يذكرهم، فيقول عقب الحديث : سألت عنه فلان، فقال: كذا، وقد كان النصيب الأوفر من الحكم على هذه الأحاديث من نصيب الإمام البخاري والذي يصدر المؤلف نقل كلامه بقوله : سألت عنه محمد، ويقول في بعض الأحيان : سألت عنه محمد بن إسماعيل، وقد بلغت نصوص هذا الكتاب 484 نصا مسندا.
Translation
Illal al-Tirmidhi al-Kabir is one of the books of hadith, written by Abu Issa Muhammad al-Tirmidhi (209 AH - 279 AH). The book is a collection of several hadiths narrated by Imam al-Tirmidhi with his chains of transmission, then he follows them with a ruling on each hadith, either in his own words or in the words of the sheikhs whom he mentions. He says after the hadith: I asked so-and-so about him, and he said: such-and-such, and the largest share of judging these hadiths went to Imam al-Bukhari, who issues the author’s narration. His words by saying: I asked Muhammad about him, and he sometimes says: I asked Muhammad bin Ismail about him, and the texts of this book reached 484 chained texts.
