The book “Patience and the Reward for It” by Ibn Abi Al-Dunya is a book on softening and admonition, collecting prophetic hadiths and traces of companions and followers related to the virtue of patience and its reward. The book explains the types of patience, such as patience in obedience to God, in disobeying Him, and in calamities, and it cites sayings that patience is the best gift given to a servant, and that it is one of the treasures of goodness that can only be given to a servant who is generous to God.
