Translation
The book “Dumming Transgression” by Ibn Abi Al-Dunya is a work on ethics, preaching, and Islamic education. It collects prophetic hadiths and traces from the Companions and Followers, and focuses on warning against creating transgression, injustice, and violating people’s rights, and explaining its bad consequences in this world and the hereafter. The book deals with various topics, such as the punishment of those who break ties with one another and a prostitute, and describing transgression as a disease of nations. It includes sermons and stories about the people of transgression, with prophetic instructions to be humble and avoid reprehensible characteristics.
