The book “Prayer and the Rulings on One Who Does Not Pray” by Ibn al-Qayyim is a jurisprudential treatise that addresses ten main issues related to the ruling on one who deliberately abandons prayer, and begins by stating that the sin of neglecting prayer is greater than murder and adultery. The book deals with the issue of killing the one who neglects prayer and how to do it, the ruling on the invalidation of deeds by abandoning them, the validity of a solo prayer with the ability to pray in congregation, the requirement of a congregation and a mosque, the ruling on one who abandons prayer, and the amount of prayer of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. The book falls within the works of Ibn al-Qayyim, which combine an explanation of the ruling and legal evidence.
