A treatise on the fundamentals of religion

This is a message by Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah on the fundamentals of religion. It begins with the issue of the permissibility of delving into fundamental issues for which there is no text from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. The author responds to this question by stating that what is called the fundamentals of religion cannot be devoid of the Prophet’s explanation of it, and that the claim of non-transmission leads to false assumptions. He explains that whoever thinks so is ignorant of the truth of what the Messenger brought or what people understand, or both.
