هذا الكتاب للإمام ابن تيمية يتناول موضوع المحبة من منظور شرعي وعقائدي، مبينًا أنها أصل كل فعل وحركة في العالم، ومفصلًا الفرق بين المحبة المحمودة والمذمومة. ينتقد الكتاب آراء الفلاسفة والمتكلمين في مسائل المحبة والإرادة واللذة، ويؤكد أن محبة الله هي أصل التوحيد العملي، وأن الإشراك في المحبة هو أصل الشرك بالله. كما يناقش الكتاب مسائل العشق وتأويلات بعض الطوائف للمحبة، ويربط بين المحبة والدين بوصفها أساسًا للعبادة والطاعة.
Translation
This book by Imam Ibn Taymiyyah deals with the topic of love from a legal and ideological perspective, explaining that it is the origin of every action and movement in the world, and detailing the difference between praiseworthy and blameworthy love. The book criticizes the opinions of philosophers and theologians on issues of love, will, and pleasure, and affirms that love of God is the origin of practical monotheism, and that associating others with love is the origin of polytheism in God. The book also discusses issues of love and some sects’ interpretations of love, and links love and religion as a basis for worship and obedience.
