هذا الكتاب هو فتوى لابن تيمية في حكم الكنائس في بلاد الإسلام، وقد سئل فيها عن دعوى أهل الذمة أن إغلاق كنائسهم بالقاهرة ظلم، وطلبهم فتحها بحجة قدمها من عهد الخلفاء الراشدين. ويجيب المؤلف عن هذه المسألة مبينًا حقيقة تلك الكنائس، وحكم هدمها في أرض العنوة، والشروط العمرية التي كانوا ملتزمين بها، مع ردّه على دعوى أن المسلمين ظلموهم، وبيان عداوة الباطنية والرافضة للمسلمين.
Translation
This book is a fatwa by Ibn Taymiyyah regarding the rule of churches in Islamic countries, in which he was asked about the claim of the people of the Dhimmah that closing their churches in Cairo is unjust, and their request to open them under the pretext he presented from the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. The author answers this issue by clarifying the reality of those churches, the ruling on demolishing them in the land of force, and the age conditions to which they were bound, along with his response to the claim that the Muslims oppressed them, and a statement of the hostility of the Batini and the Rafidites to the Muslims.
