Al-Kifaya fi Ilm al-Riwaa is a book on the science of hadith written by al-Hafiz Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Ali al-Khatib al-Baghdadi, who died in the year (1002 AD - 1071 AD), in which he completed research into the laws of narration, and explained its principles and general rules. In the introduction to the book, he spoke about many issues related to the science of hadith, and then he finished those issues. He spoke about the punishment for one who conceals knowledge, so he narrated the hadith of Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “The person who will be most tormented on the Day of Resurrection is a scholar whom God will not benefit from with his knowledge.” And the hadith of Abdullah: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: There is no envy except in two cases: a man to whom God has given wisdom, so he says it, and a man to whom God has given money, so he spends it in his right. …
