Translation

The book “Types of Arrogant People” is a book that is classified within the field of rituals, etiquette, and remembrances, and it provides a comprehensive study on the types of vanity in humans. The author, Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali, divides creation into different categories, and points out that vanity accompanies all believers, accountable people, and unbelievers, except for those whom God protects. The book provides an analysis of the infidel’s arrogance and its treatment, and points out that arrogant people, with the exception of infidels, are divided into four types: scholars, servants, lords of money, and Sufis. The book aims to expose the arrogance of these groups, and to clarify the argument therein, in a clear and concise manner.
