This book, by Imam Ibn al-Jawzi, deals with topics related to patience, contentment with destiny, and God’s destiny, with a focus on steadfastness at the time of death. It contains news and stories about the prophets, righteous companions and others, explaining the virtues of patience and its reward, and reviewing how the patient and contented faced death and adversity. The book aims to promote the values of patience and contentment in the face of trials and adversity.
