بحر الدموع هو كتاب من تأليف ابن الجوزي، وهو أحد كتب الرقائق والوعظ، تميز فيه مصنفه بأسلوب شيق يمس شغاف القلب، حيث أورد فيه قصصًا تبكي العيون وتحرك القلوب، وصنفه على فصول. وتكلم فيه على أمور من المحرمات وذمها وشنع على فاعليها. وهو كتاب يحث على ذكر الله بالتوبة والندم ويجعل منهما سببًا في كشف الغم، ودفع البلاء، وجلب السعادة. وطعمه المؤلف بآيات القرآن الكريم، وأحاديث النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ونتفًا من الأشعار، كما ضمنه كثيرًا من أقوال السلف من الزهاد والعباد، ويفيد الكتاب الخطباء والوعاظ كثيرًا.

The Sea of Tears is a book written by Ibn al-Jawzi. It is one of the books of enlightenment and preaching. The author’s work was distinguished by an interesting style that touches the heart. In it, he presented stories that make the eyes cry and move the hearts, and he classified it into chapters. He spoke about forbidden matters, disparaged them, and insulted those who did them. It is a book that encourages remembrance of God through repentance and remorse, and makes them a means of removing grief, warding off affliction, and bringing happiness. The author enriched it with verses of the Holy Qur’an, hadiths of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and excerpts from poetry. He also included many sayings of the predecessors, including ascetics and worshippers, and the book is of great benefit to preachers and preachers.
