هذا الكتاب هو تاريخ ابن معين برواية الدارمي، ويحوي تراجم لأئمة الحديث وأصحاب الرواة، متناولاً أقوال يحيى بن معين في موثوقية الرواة وقوتهم في الحديث، معتمداً على أسئلة وجهها الدارمي إليه. يتناول الكتاب مواضيع متنوعة حول رواة الحديث وأئمة العلم، ويقسم التراجم حسب الأحرف الأولى من أسمائهم، ويبدأ برواية تقييم ابن معين لبعض الرواة المشهورين كمالك وعقيل ومعمر وسفيان بن عيينة.

Translation

This book is the history of Ibn Ma’in, narrated by Al-Darimi. It contains biographies of the imams of hadith and the companions of the narrators, dealing with the sayings of Yahya ibn Ma’in regarding the reliability of the narrators and their strength in the hadith, relying on questions addressed to him by Al-Darimi. The book deals with various topics about hadith narrators and imams of knowledge, and divides the biographies according to the first letters of their names. It begins by narrating Ibn Ma’in’s evaluation of some famous narrators such as Malik, Aqil, Muammar, and Sufyan bin Uyaynah.
