كتاب طبقات علماء إفريقية، وكتاب طبقات علماء تونس من تأليف أبو العرب التميمي يندرج ضمن فئة التراجم والطبقات، ويُعنى بتجميع سيرة العلماء الذين عاشوا في إقليم إفريقية وتونس مع إبراز فضائلهم وسلاسل إسنادهم وتوزيعهم على طبقات مختلفة من الصحابة والتابعين ومن جاء بعدهم. يشتمل على فصول تتناول ذكر من دخل إفريقية من الصحابة والتابعين وتسمية من جلة التابعين، إضافة إلى طبقة ثانية من العلماء الذين كان لهم حضور في المنطقة مع إسناد إلى رواة مختلفين. يفتتح الكتاب بحديث نبوي يُشير إلى فضل أهل إفريقية في الآخرة، مما يبرز مكانة هؤلاء العلماء في التراث الإسلامي.

The book “Classes of Scholars of Ifriqiya” and the book “Classes of Scholars of Tunisia” written by Abu al-Arab al-Tamimi fall within the category of biographies and classes. It is concerned with compiling the biographies of scholars who lived in the region of Ifriqiya and Tunisia, highlighting their virtues and chains of transmission and distributing them among different classes of companions, followers, and those who came after them. It includes chapters that deal with mentioning the Companions and Followers who entered Africa and naming those of the venerable Followers, in addition to a second class of scholars who had a presence in the region with attribution to different narrators. The book opens with a prophetic hadith indicating the virtue of the people of Africa in the afterlife, which highlights the place of these scholars in the Islamic heritage.
