كتاب الكنى لمن لا يعرف له اسم لأبي الفتح الأزدي يُعَدُّ من مؤلفات التراجم والطبقات التي تُعنى بجمع كُنى أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الذين لا يُعرف لهم اسم شخصي، ويُرتّب محتواه وفق الحروف الأبجدية العربية من الألف إلى اللام والألف. يقتصر كل باب على ذكر الكنى مع إسناد مختصر للحديث أو الرواية التي يُنسب إليها صاحب الكنى، دون الخوض في تفاصيل سيرة أو أحداث أخرى. يهدف الكتاب إلى توثيق هذه الأسماء المستعارة وتسهيل التعرف عليها للباحثين في علوم الحديث والطبقات.
Translation
The Book of Nicknames for Those Who Do Not Know a Name by Abu al-Fath al-Azdi is considered one of the books of biographies and classes that is concerned with collecting the nicknames of the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, for whom no personal name is known. Its content is arranged according to the letters of the Arabic alphabet from Alif to Laam and Alif. Each chapter is limited to mentioning the nickname with a brief attribution of the hadith or narration to which the owner of the nickname is attributed, without going into details of his biography or other events. The book aims to document these pseudonyms and facilitate their identification for researchers in the sciences of hadith and classes.
