كتاب الولاة وكتاب القضاة للكنـدي هو تجميع تراجيـل يختص بأسماء ولاة مصر ومناصبي الصلاة والحرب، إضافة إلى القضاة الذين تولوا شؤون القضاء، ويستند إلى سلسلة إسناد تُروى عبر رواة متعددين. يضم الكتاب فهارساً تفصيلية لأسماء شخصيات إسلامية من عصور مبكرة حتى زمن المؤلف، مع إشارة إلى أصولهم ونسبهم ومناصبهم. يُصنّف ضمن أدبيات التراجم والطبقات التي تُعنى بتوثيق سير القادة والفقهاء في التاريخ الإسلامي.
Translation
The Book of Governors and the Book of Judges by Al-Kindi is a compilation of tales relating to the names of Egyptian governors and positions of prayer and war, in addition to the judges who took charge of judicial affairs, and is based on a chain of transmission narrated through multiple narrators. The book includes detailed indexes of the names of Islamic figures from early times until the time of the author, with reference to their origins, lineage, and positions. It is classified within the literature of biographies and classes concerned with documenting the biographies of leaders and jurists in Islamic history.
