البرق الشامى أحد كتب التاريخ، ألفه عماد الدين الأصفهاني (519 هـ - 597 هـ)، يؤرخ الكتاب للفترة الزمنية الواقعة بين سنتي 562 هـ-589 هـ على عدة أجزاء، وقد بدأ الكاتب في كتابه بذكر نفسه وصورة انتقاله من العراق إلى الشام، وما جرى من خدمته للسلطان نور الدين محمود وخدمته للسلطان صلاح الدين الأيوبي، وذكر في الكتاب شيء من فتوحات الشام، وقد سمى المؤلف كتابه البرق الشامي لأنه شبه أوقاته في تلك الأيام بالبرق الخاطف لطيبها ورعة انقضائها.

Translation

Al-Barq Al-Shami is one of the history books, written by Imad Al-Din Al-Isfahani (519 AH - 597 AH). The book dates the time period between the years 562 AH - 589 AH in several parts. The writer began his book by mentioning himself and the picture of his move from Iraq to the Levant, and what happened in his service to Sultan Nour Al-Din Mahmoud and his service to Sultan Saladin Al-Ayyubi, and he mentioned in the book something of the conquests of the Levant, The author named his book The Levantine Lightning because he likened his times in those days to lightning flashes due to their goodness and the piety of their passing.
