Hayy Bin Yaqzan is a novel that tells the story of a person called Hayy Bin Yaqzan who grew up on an island alone. It symbolizes man and his relationship with the universe and religion. It contained philosophical contents, and was co-authored by several Arab and Muslim writers. The first author of the story of Hayy Bin Yaqzan was the philosopher Ibn Sina. He wrote it during his imprisonment, then it was reconstructed by Sheikh Shihab al-Din al-Suhrawardi, after which it was rewritten by the Andalusian philosopher Ibn Tufayl, and then it was the last novel. The story was written by Ibn al-Nafis, who noticed some of the original contents of Ibn Sina’s narration, which did not agree with his doctrine, so he reformulated it to be Hayy bin Yaqzan’s narration on the authority of Salih bin Kamil.
