Approximation to the definition of logic and the introduction to it with colloquial words and jurisprudential examples is a book on logic written by Imam Ibn Hazm Al-Andalusi (d. 456 AH). It is considered one of the most important contributions of Muslim scholars to writing logic in the Arabic language, as the author Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali preceded it in linking logic and the principles of jurisprudence. His student Al-Humaidi said: “The same applies to the Book of Approximation to the Limits of Logic, which is introduced to it with colloquial words and jurisprudential examples. In its clarification, the removal of misconceptions about it, and the disbelief of those who disagree with it, it followed a method that no one had followed before it, as far as we have learned.”
