Hadith 16,224Musnad Ahmad
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُثْمَانَ الرَّحَبِيَّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْمَقْرَائِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي حَيٍّ عَنْ ذِي مِخْمَرٍأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كَانَ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ فِي حِمْيَرَ فَنَزَعَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْهُمْ فَجَعَلَهُ فِي قُرَيْشٍوَ سَ يَ عُ و دُ إِ لَ يْ هِ مْ وَكَذَا كَانَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي مُقَطَّعًا وَحَيْثُ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ تَكَلَّمَ عَلَى الِاسْتِوَاءِ
Abd al-Quddus Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, he said, Hariz narrated to us, meaning Ibn Uthman al-Rahbi, he said, Rashid bin Saad al-Maqari narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Hayy. حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَرْحُومُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو نَعَامَةَ السَّعْدِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَخَرَجَ مُعَاوِيَةُ عَلَى حَلْقَةٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ مَا أَجْلَسَكُمْ قَالُوا جَلَسْنَا نَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ آللَّهِ مَا أَجْلَسَكُمْ إِلَّا ذَاكَ قَالُوا آللَّهِ مَا أَجْلَسَنَا إِلَّا ذَاكَ قَالَ أَمَا إِنِّي لَمْ أَسْتَحْلِفْكُمْ تُهْمَةً لَكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ أَحَدٌ بِمَنْزِلَتِي مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَقَلَّ عَنْهُ حَدِيثًا مِنِّي وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ عَلَى حَلْقَةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ مَا أَجْلَسَكُمْ قَالُوا جَلَسْنَا نَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَنَحْمَدُهُ عَلَى مَا هَدَانَا لِلْإِسْلَامِ وَمَنَّ عَلَيْنَا بِكَ قَالَ آللَّهِ مَا أَجْلَسَكُمْ إِلَّا ذَلِكَ قَالُوا آللَّهِ مَا أَجْلَسَنَا إِلَّا ذَلِكَ قَالَ أَمَا إِنِّي لَمْ أَسْتَحْلِفْكُمْ تُهْمَةً لَكُمْ وَإِنَّهُ أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُبَاهِي بِكُمْ الْمَلَائِكَةَ
Ali bin Bahr narrated to us, saying: Marhum bin Abdul Aziz narrated to me, saying: Abu Naamah Al-Saadi narrated to me, on the authority of Abu Uthman Al-Nahdi, on the authority of my father Saeed Al-Khudri said, “Muawiyah went out to a group in the mosque and said, ‘What made you sit?’ They said, ‘We sat down to remember God Almighty.’ He said, ‘What made you sit? He made you sit except that one. They said, “By God, we have not seated anyone except that one.” He said, “I did not make you swear on any charge against you, and no one was of my status.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, spoke less about it than I did, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, went out to a group of his companions and said what He made you sit. They said, “We sat, remembering God Almighty and praising Him for what He has guided us to Islam and for bestowing blessings upon us through you.” He said, “I did not make you sit except That is what they said, “By God, we did not sit together except that.” He said, “I did not make you swear on account of my accusation against you. Indeed, Gabriel, peace be upon him, came to me and informed me.” God Almighty boasts of you to the angels.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مَعْبَدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَكَانَ مُعَاوِيَةُ قَلَّمَا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا وَيَقُولُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ قَلَّمَا يَدَعُهُنَّ أَوْ يُحَدِّثُ بِهِنَّ فِي الْجُمَعِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ يُرِدْ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهُّ فِي الدِّينِ وَإِنَّ هَذَا الْمَالَ حُلْوٌ خَضِرٌ فَمَنْ يَأْخُذْهُ بِحَقِّهِ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالتَّمَادُحَ فَإِنَّهُ الذَّبْحُ
Affan told us, Shu`bah told us, he said, Saad bin Ibrahim told me about Ma’bad al-Juhani, they said: Muawiyah rarely spoke about the Messenger of God. حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تُبَادِرُونِي بِرُكُوعٍ وَلَا بِسُجُودٍ فَإِنَّهُ مَهْمَا أَسْبِقْكُمْ بِهِ إِذَا رَكَعْتُ تُدْرِكُونِي إِذَا رَفَعْتُ وَمَهْمَا أَسْبِقْكُمْ بِهِ إِذَا سَجَدْتُ تُدْرِكُونِي إِذَا رَفَعْتُ إِنِّي قَدْ بَدَّنْتُ
Yahya bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Ibn Ajlan, he said: Muhammad bin Yahya bin Hibban told me, on the authority of Ibn Muhayriz, on the authority of Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Do not hasten with me in bowing or in prostration, for no matter what I precede you with, when I kneel, you will overtake me when I have risen, and no matter what I precede you with, when I prostrate, you will overtake me when I rise. Indeed, I have prostrated myself.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ قَالَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ مَنْ يُرِدْ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهُّ فِي الدِّينِ سَمِعْتُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى هَذَا الْمِنْبَرِ
Waki’ told us, Osama bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Ka’b Al-Qurazi, who said: Muawiyah said on the pulpit: Oh God, there is no objection to what you have given, nor can I give Why did you prevent it? And no one who is diligent will benefit from you. Earnestness is the one whom God desires good for and gives him understanding of the religion. I heard these words from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He saluted on this pulpit

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ وَبَهْزٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ قَالَ بَهْزٌ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهُّ فِي الدِّينِ

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ الْقَنَّادِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ رُكُوبِ النِّمَارِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ إِلَّا مُقَطَّعًا
Ismail told us, he said, Khalid Al-Hadha told us, on the authority of Maymun Al-Qannad, on the authority of Abu Qalaba, on the authority of Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, prayed May God bless him and grant him peace. حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبُ بْنُ الشَّهِيدِ عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍأَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ دَخَلَ بَيْتًا فِيهِ ابْنُ عَامِرٍ وَابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَامَ ابْنُ عَامِرٍ وَجَلَسَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ اجْلِسْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَمْثُلَ لَهُ الْعِبَادُ قِيَامًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ بَيْتًا فِي النَّارِ
Ismail narrated to us, Habib bin Al-Shahid narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Majlaza, that Muawiyah entered a house in which Ibn Amir and Ibn Al-Zubayr were present, so Ibn Amir stood up. Ibn al-Zubayr sat down, and Muawiyah said to him, “Sit down, for I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, ‘Whoever is pleased with the servants appearing before him? When he rises, let him make a home in Hell.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مَعْبَدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَكَانَ مُعَاوِيَةُ قَلَّمَا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَكَانَ قَلَّمَا يَكَادُ أَنْ يَدَعَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ أَنْ يُحَدِّثَ بِهِنَّ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ يُرِدْ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهُّ فِي الدِّينِ وَإِنَّ هَذَا الْمَالَ حُلْوٌ خَضِرٌ فَمَنْ يَأْخُذْهُ بِحَقِّهِ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالتَّمَادُحَ فَإِنَّهُ الذَّبْحُ
Muhammad ibn Ja`far narrated to us, he said: Shu`bah and Hajjaj narrated to us, he said: Shu`bah narrated to us, on the authority of Sa`d ibn Ibrahim, on the authority of Ma`bad al-Juhani, they said: Muawiyah rarely spoke about the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he rarely allowed himself to speak these words on Friday. On the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said: Whoever God wants good for will give him understanding of religion, and this money is sweet and green, so whoever takes it with what is due to him. Blessed be he and you in it, and beware of extolling praise, for it is slaughter.

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْفٍ الْجُرَشِيِّ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمُصُّ لِسَانَهُ أَوْ قَالَ شَفَتَهُ يَعْنِي الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَنْ يُعَذَّبَ لِسَانٌ أَوْ شَفَتَانِ مَصَّهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Hashim bin Al-Qasim told us, Hariz told us, on the authority of Abdul Rahman bin Abi Awf Al-Jurashi, on the authority of Muawiyah, who said: I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. And he (peace and blessings of God be upon him) sucked his tongue, or he said, “his lip,” meaning Al-Hasan bin Ali, may God’s prayers be upon him, and that a tongue or two lips that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, will not be punished. حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الدِّينَ النَّصِيحَةُ إِنَّمَا الدِّينُ النَّصِيحَةُ قَالُوا لِمَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لِلَّهِ وَلِكِتَابِهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَامَّتِهِمْ
Abdul Rahman bin Mahdi told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Suhail bin Abi Saleh, on the authority of Ata’ bin Yazid Al-Laythi, on the authority of Tamim Al-Dari, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, is that religion is advice. حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا الدِّينُ النَّصِيحَةُ قِيلَ لِمَنْ قَالَ لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِكِتَابِهِ وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَامَّتِهِمْحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّمَا الدِّينُ النَّصِيحَةُ ثَلَاثًا
Yahya bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Sufyan, he said, Suhail bin Abi Saleh told me, on the authority of Ata’ bin Yazid, on the authority of Tamim al-Dara’in, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. And peace be upon him. He said, “Religion is only sincerity.” It was said to those who say to God, to His Messenger, to His Book, to the imams of the Muslims, and to their common people. Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Suhail bin Abi Salih, mentioned something similar except that he said: “Religion is only sincerity three times.”

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَوْهَبٍ يُحَدِّثُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ قَالَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الرَّجُلِ يُسْلِمُ عَلَى يَدَيْ الرَّجُلِ فَقَالَ هُوَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِمَحْيَاهُ وَمَمَاتِهِ

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الدِّينَ النَّصِيحَةُ إِنَّ الدِّينَ النَّصِيحَةُ إِنَّ الدِّينَ النَّصِيحَةُ قَالُوا لِمَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لِلَّهِ وَلِكِتَابِهِ وَلِنَبِيِّهِ وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَعَامَّتِهِمْقَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِسُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ فِي حَدِيثٍ حَدَّثَنَاهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ فَقَالَ سُهَيْلٌ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ الَّذِي سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ أَبِي سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ أَبِي عَنْ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ قَالَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا السُّنَّةُ فِي الرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ يُسْلِمُ عَلَى يَدَيْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالَ هُوَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِمَحْيَاهُ وَمَمَاتِهِ
Waki` narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Aziz bin Omar bin Abd al-Aziz narrated to us, on the authority of Abd Allah bin Mawhib, who said: I heard Tamim al-Dari saying: Oh Messenger of God, what is the Sunnah regarding a man from the People of the Book who greets a man from among the Muslims? He said, “He is the most deserving of people in his life and death.”

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْأَزْرَقِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَتَمَّهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ تَامَّةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَتَمَّهَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَتُكْمِلُونَ بِهَا فَرِيضَتَهُ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ كَذَلِكَ ثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى حِسَابِ ذَلِكَحَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ
Al-Hasan bin Musa told us, he said, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Al-Azraq bin Qais, on the authority of Yahya bin Yamar, on the authority of a man from the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: The first thing for which a servant will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection is his prayer. If he completes it, it will be recorded. He has it in full, and if he has not completed it, God Almighty said: See if you can find for My servant anything voluntary by which you can complete his obligatory prayers, then zakat. Likewise, then deeds are taken into account. Hassan told us, Hammad told us, on the authority of Humaid, on the authority of Al-Hasan, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. The same thing was narrated to us by Hassan, who said: Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us, on the authority of Dawud bin Abi Hind, on the authority of Zurara bin Awfa, on the authority of Tamim al-Dari On the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى يَعْنِي الطَّبَّاعَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْخَلِيلُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ عَنِ الْأَزْهَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاحِدًا أَحَدًا صَمَدًا لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ كُتِبَتْ لَهُ أَرْبَعُونَ أَلْفَ حَسَنَةٍ
Ishaq bin Issa told us, meaning the printer, he said: Laith bin Saad told me, he said: Al-Khalil bin Murrah told me, on the authority of Al-Azhar bin Abdullah, on the authority of Tamim Al-Dari said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Whoever says there is no god but God, One, and remains steadfast, has not taken a companion or a child, nor has he He has rewarded him eleven times, and forty thousand good deeds are written for him.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَدَاوُدَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الصَّلَاةُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَكْمَلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ كَامِلَةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَكْمَلَهَا قَالَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَأَكْمِلُوا بِهَا مَا ضَيَّعَ مِنْ فَرِيضَةٍ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ ثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ
Affan told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Humaid, on the authority of Al-Hasan, on the authority of a man, on the authority of Abu Hurairah and Dawud, on the authority of Zurara, on the authority of Tamim al-Dara’in, the Prophet May God’s prayers and peace be upon him. حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُرَحْبِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيُّأَنَّ رَوْحَ بْنَ زِنْبَاعٍ زَارَ تَمِيمًا الدَّارِيَّ فَوَجَدَهُ يُنَقِّي شَعِيرًا لِفَرَسِهِ قَالَ وَحَوْلَهُ أَهْلُهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَوْحٌ أَمَا كَانَ فِي هَؤُلَاءِ مَنْ يَكْفِيكَ قَالَ تَمِيمٌ بَلَى وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ يُنَقِّي لِفَرَسِهِ شَعِيرًا ثُمَّ يُعَلِّقُهُ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ حَبَّةٍ حَسَنَةٌحَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ
Abu Al-Mughirah narrated to us, saying: Ismail bin Ayyash narrated to us, saying: Shurahbil bin Muslim Al-Khawlani narrated to me, that the spirit of bin Zanba’ visited Tamim Al-Dari, and he found him purifying barley for his horse. He said, and his family surrounded him, and a spirit said to him, “Are there not among these people someone who is sufficient for you?” Tamim said, “Yes.” But I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: There is no Muslim who cleans barley for his horse and then hangs it on him except that it is written for him with all A good pill. Al-Haytham bin Kharijah narrated to us, Ismail bin Ayyash narrated to us, on the authority of Shuhrabil bin Muslim, who mentioned a hadith like this.
