Hadith 269Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَمَا تَحْفَظُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا غَيْرَ هَذَا قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنْ أَقُولُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ عَلْقَمَةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ
Ishaq bin Isa told us, Hammad bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Abu Hashim, on the authority of Ibrahim. He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade Muqāṭāliḥa and Muḍābānah, and it was said to him, “Have you not memorized a hadith from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, a hadith other than this?” He said, “Yes, but I say it.” Abdullah said. He said, “Alqamah is more beloved to me.”

Hadith 272Sunan Ad-Darimi
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ لَا تَفُوتُنِي عَشِيَّةُ خَمِيسٍ إِلَّا آتِي فِيهَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لِشَيْءٍ قَطُّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حَتَّى كَانَتْ ذَاتَ عَشِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَاغْرَوْرَقَتَا عَيْنَاهُ وَانْتَفَخَتْ أَوْدَاجُهُ فَأَنَا رَأَيْتُهُ مَحْلُولَةً أَزْرَارُهُ وَقَالَ أَوْ مِثْلُهُ أَوْ نَحْوُهُ أَوْ شَبِيهٌ بِهِ

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَشْعَثُ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ وَابْنِ سِيرِينَ أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ إِذَا حَدَّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْأَيَّامِ تَرَبَّدَ وَجْهُهُ وَقَالَ هَكَذَا أَوْ نَحْوَهُ هَكَذَا أَوْ نَحْوَهُ

أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قُطْبَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُنَا فِي الشَّهْرِ بِالْحَدِيثَيْنِ أَوْ الثَّلَاثَةِ
Asim bin Yusuf told us, Abu Bakr told us, on the authority of Abu Husayn, on the authority of Al-Shabi, on the authority of Thabit bin Qutbah Al-Ansari, he said: It was Abdullah He tells us two or three hadiths a month.
Hadith 278Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ كَانَ أَنَسٌ قَلِيلَ الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ إِذَا حَدَّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Suleiman bin Harb told us, he said: Hammad bin Zayd told us, on the authority of Ibn Aoun, on the authority of Muhammad, he said: Anas had few hadiths on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنِي السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ سَعْدٍ إِلَى مَكَّةَ فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ حَدِيثًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى رَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ
Sulayman bin Harb narrated to us, Hammad bin Zaid narrated to us, on the authority of Yahya bin Sa’id, Al-Sa’ib bin Yazid narrated to me, he said: I went out with Saad to Mecca, and what I heard him narrating a hadith on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, until we returned to Medina.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ جُبْيَرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَشَخَصَ بِبَصَرِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَذَا أَوَانُ يُخْتَلَسُ الْعِلْمُ مِنْ النَّاسِ حَتَّى لَا يَقْدِرُوا مِنْهُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ فَقَالَ زِيَادُ بْنُ لَبِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَكَيْفَ يُخْتَلَسُ مِنَّا وَقَدْ قَرَأْنَا الْقُرْآنَ فَوَاللَّهِ لَنَقْرَأَنَّهُ وَلَنُقْرِئَنَّهُ نِسَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَنَا فَقَالَ ثَكِلَتْكَ أُمُّكَ يَا زِيَادُ إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَعُدُّكَ مِنْ فُقَهَاءِ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةُ وَالْإِنْجِيلُ عِنْدَ الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى فَمَاذَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ قَالَ جُبَيْرٌ فَلَقِيتُ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ قُلْتُ أَلَا تَسْمَعُ مَا يَقُولُ أَخُوكَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِالَّذِي قَالَ قَالَ صَدَقَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ إِنْ شِئْتَ لَأُحَدِّثَنَّكَ بِأَوَّلِ عِلْمٍ يُرْفَعُ مِنْ النَّاسِ الْخُشُوعُ يُوشِكُ أَنْ تَدْخُلَ مَسْجِدَ الْجَمَاعَةِ فَلَا تَرَى فِيهِ رَجُلًا خَاشِعًا
Abdullah bin Saleh told us: Muawiya told me, on the authority of Abdul Rahman bin Jubayr bin Nufayr, on the authority of his father, Jubayr bin Nufayr, on the authority of my father Al-Darda’ said, “We were with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he looked up at the sky and then said, ‘This is the time for people to steal knowledge until They could not get anything from him, so Ziyad bin Labid Al-Ansari said, O Messenger of God, and how can he embezzle from us when we have read the Qur’an? By God We will certainly recite it, and We will certainly recite it to our women and our sons. He said, “May your mother be bereaved of you, O Ziyad. If I were to count you among the jurists of the people of Medina.” This is the Torah and the Gospel among the Jews and Christians, so what does it do for them? Jubayr said, “So I met Ubadah ibn al-Samit. He said, ‘Don’t you listen to what Your brother Abu al-Darda’ says, “So I told him what he said. He said, ‘Abu al-Darda’ is right. If you wish, I will tell you the first knowledge that raises humility from people.’” You are about to enter the community mosque and you do not see a humble man there.
Hadith 292Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ لَا يَكُونُ الرَّجُلُ عَالِمًا حَتَّى لَا يَحْسُدَ مَنْ فَوْقَهُ وَلَا يَحْقِرَ مَنْ دُونَهُ وَلَا يَبْتَغِيَ بِعِلْمِهِ ثَمَنًا
Ahmad bin Asad Abu Asim told us, Yahya bin Yaman told us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Laith, on the authority of a man, on the authority of Ibn Umar, he said, “The man cannot be A scholar so that he does not envy those above him, does not despise those below him, and does not seek a price for his knowledge.
Hadith 293Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْأَعْلَى التَّيْمِيَّ يَقُولُ مَنْ أُوتِيَ مِنْ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَا يُبْكِيهِ لَخَلِيقٌ أَنْ لَا يَكُونَ أُوتِيَ عِلْمًا يَنْفَعُهُ لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى نَعَتَ الْعُلَمَاءَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ { إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ يَبْكُونَ }
Saeed bin Sulaiman told us on the authority of Abu Usama on the authority of Mis’ar. He said: I heard Abd al-A’la al-Taymi say: Whoever is given knowledge does not make him cry. It is fitting that he should not have been given knowledge that would benefit him, because God Almighty described the scholars and then recited the Qur’an. }
Hadith 294Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا عِصْمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ عَنْ مُبَارَكِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْعُمَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ لَا تَكُونُ عَالِمًا حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِيكَ ثَلَاثُ خِصَالٍ لَا تَبْغِي عَلَى مَنْ فَوْقَكَ وَلَا تَحْقِرُ مَنْ دُونَكَ وَلَا تَأْخُذُ عَلَى عِلْمِكَ دُنْيَا
Isma bin Al-Fadl told us, Zaid bin Hubab told us, on the authority of Mubarak bin Fadalah, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Omar Al-Amri, on the authority of Abu Hazim, he said: No. You will be knowledgeable until you have three qualities: You do not oppress those above you, you do not despise those below you, and you do not take worldly things for your knowledge.
Hadith 296Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ الْمِنْقَرِيِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ يَوْمًا فِي شَيْءٍ قَالَهُ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ لَيْسَ هَكَذَا يَقُولُ الْفُقَهَاءُ فَقَالَ وَيْحَكَ وَرَأَيْتَ أَنْتَ فَقِيهًا قَطُّ إِنَّمَا الْفَقِيهُ الزَّاهِدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا الرَّاغِبُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ الْبَصِيرُ بِأَمْرِ دِينِهِ الْمُدَاوِمُ عَلَى عِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ
Al-Hasan bin Arafa told us, Al-Mubarak bin Saeed told us, on the authority of his brother Sufyan Al-Thawri, on the authority of Imran Al-Manqari, he said: I said to Al-Hasan one day, Something he said, O Abu Saeed. This is not what the jurists say. So he said, Woe to you. I have never seen you as a jurist. Rather, the jurist is ascetic in this world and desires the hereafter. Hadith 297Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ الْبَجَلِيُّ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ قِيلَ لَهُ مَنْ أَفْقَهُ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ أَتْقَاهُمْ لِرَبِّهِ
Al-Hasan bin Arafa told us, Al-Nadr bin Ismail Al-Bajli told us, on the authority of Mis’ar, on the authority of Saad bin Ibrahim, it was said to him: “Who has taught him The people of the city, he said, “The most pious of them is before his Lord.”
Hadith 298Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْفَقِيهُ مَنْ يَخَافُ اللَّهَ
Al-Hasan bin Arafa told us, Al-Hussein bin Ali told us, on the authority of Laith bin Abi Sulaym, on the authority of Mujahid, who said, “The jurist is only the one who fears God.”
Hadith 300Sunan Ad-Darimi
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ الْفَقِيهُ حَقُّ الْفَقِيهِ الَّذِي لَا يُقَنِّطُ النَّاسَ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يُؤَمِّنُهُمْ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يُرَخِّصُ لَهُمْ فِي مَعَاصِي اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَا خَيْرَ فِي عِبَادَةٍ لَا عِلْمَ فِيهَا وَلَا خَيْرَ فِي عِلْمٍ لَا فَهْمَ فِيهِ وَلَا خَيْرَ فِي قِرَاءَةٍ لَا تَدَبُّرَ فِيهَا
Al-Hasan bin Arafa told us, Ismail bin Ibrahim told us, on the authority of Laith, on the authority of Yahya bin Abbad, he said: Ali is the jurist, the right of the jurist who does not He makes people despair of God’s mercy, and does not secure them from God’s punishment, and does not allow them to disobey God. Indeed, there is no good in worship in which there is no knowledge, and there is no good in Knowledge without understanding, and there is no good in reading without contemplation.
Hadith 301Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ حَازِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي جَرِيرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ تُبَيْعًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ كَعْبٍ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَجِدُ نَعْتَ قَوْمٍ يَتَعَلَّمُونَ لِغَيْرِ الْعَمَلِ وَيَتَفَقَّهُونَ لِغَيْرِ الْعِبَادَةِ وَيَطْلُبُونَ الدُّنْيَا بِعَمَلِ الْآخِرَةِ وَيَلْبَسُونَ جُلُودَ الضَّأْنِ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ أَمَرُّ مِنْ الصَّبْرِ فَبِي يَغْتَرُّونَ أَوْ إِيَّايَ يُخَادِعُونَ فَحَلَفْتُ بِي لَأُتِيحَنَّ لَهُمْ فِتْنَةً تَتْرُكُ الْحَلِيمَ فِيهَا حَيْرَانَ
Abu Al-Numan told us: Hammad bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Yazid bin Hazim, my uncle Jarir bin Zaid told me, that he heard Tabi’a talking about Ka’b. He said Indeed, I find the characteristics of a people who learn for other than work, and gain understanding for other than worship, and seek this world by doing the hereafter, and wear skins. Sheep, but their hearts are more bitter than patience. So they will be deceived by Me, or they will deceive Me. So I swore by Me that I would provide them with a trial that would leave the wise in confusion.
Hadith 302Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الْعَمِّيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيُّ عَنْ هَرِمِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْعَالِمَ الْفَاسِقَ فَبَلَغَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ وَأَشْفَقَ مِنْهَا مَا الْعَالِمُ الْفَاسِقُ قَالَ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ هَرِمٌ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ بِهِ إِلَّا الْخَيْرَ يَكُونُ إِمَامٌ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْعِلْمِ وَيَعْمَلُ بِالْفِسْقِ فَيُشَبِّهُ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَيَضِلُّوا
Bishr ibn al-Hakam informed us, Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd al-Samad al-Ammi informed us, Abu Imran al-Juni told us, on the authority of Haram ibn Hayyan, that He said, "Beware of the immoral scholar." Then it reached Omar ibn al-Khattab and he wrote to him, and he was ashamed of her. What is the immoral scholar? He said, "Hurram wrote to him, O prince." Believers, by God, I intended nothing but good by it. There will be an imam who speaks with knowledge and acts with immorality, so he makes people slander and they go astray.
Hadith 309Sunan Ad-Darimi
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ إِذَا رَأَيْتَ قَوْمًا يُنْتِجُونَ بِأَمْرٍ دُونَ عَامَّتِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَلَى تَأْسِيسِ الضَّلَالَةِ
Muhammad ibn Kathir informed us on the authority of Al-Awza’i. He said, ‘Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz said: If you see a people producing a matter to the exclusion of their commoners, They are on the basis of misguidance
