Hadith 142Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ تَعَلَّمُوا الْعِلْمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْبَضَ وَقَبْضُهُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ أَهْلُهُ أَلَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالتَّنَطُّعَ وَالتَّعَمُّقَ وَالْبِدَعَ وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْعَتِيقِ

Abu Al-Mughirah told us, Al-Awza’i told us, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, on the authority of Abu Qalaba, he said, Abdullah bin Masoud said, “Learn Knowledge before it is seized, and its seizure is until its owner is gone. Beware of arrogance, deepening, and innovations, and beware of what is ancient.

Hadith 152Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَجْرَؤُكُمْ عَلَى الْفُتْيَا أَجْرَؤُكُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ

Ibrahim bin Musa told us, Ibn Al-Mubarak told us, on the authority of Sa’id bin Abi Ayyub, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abi Ja’far, he said, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said May God bless him and grant him peace. The most daring of you to give fatwas is the most daring of you to call for Hellfire.

Hadith 153Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْدَثَ رَأْيًا لَيْسَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَمْ تَمْضِ بِهِ سُنَّةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَدْرِ عَلَى مَا هُوَ مِنْهُ إِذَا لَقِيَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

Abu Al-Mughirah told us, Al-Awza’i told us, on the authority of Abdah bin Abi Lubaba, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said, “Whoever introduces an opinion that is not in the book” By God, not a year has passed since the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not know what he was in when he met God Almighty.

Hadith 155Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ مَنْ أَفْتَى بِفُتْيَا يُعَمَّى عَلَيْهَا فَإِثْمُهَا عَلَيْهِ

Muhammad ibn Ahmad informed us, Sufyan ibn Uyaynah informed us, on the authority of Abu Sinan, on the authority of Sa`id ibn Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: Who gave the fatwa? With a fatwa that is blinded to her, her sin is on him.

Hadith 156Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ وُهَيْبٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُفْتِي فِي الْفَرْجِ بِشَيْءٍ فِيهِ اخْتِلَافٌ

Al-Hussein bin Mansour told us, Al-Hussein bin Al-Walid told us, on the authority of Wahib, on the authority of Hisham, on the authority of Muhammad bin Sirin, that he did not give fatwas in Relief with something in which there is a difference

Hadith 158Sunan Ad-Darimi

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَدْرَكَهُ رَمَضَانَانِ فَقَالَ أَكَانَ أَوْ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَالَ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَعْدُ فَقَالَ اتْرُكْ بَلِيَّتَهُ حَتَّى تَنْزِلَ قَالَ فَدَلَسْنَا لَهُ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ قَدْ كَانَ فَقَالَ يُطْعِمُ عَنْ الْأَوَّلِ مِنْهُمَا ثَلَاثِينَ مِسْكِينًا لِكُلِّ يَوْمٍ مِسْكِينٌ

Bishr ibn al-Hakam narrated to us, Abd al-Aziz ibn Muhammad narrated to us, on the authority of Amr ibn Maimun, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said, I asked him about a man Ramadan came to him and said, “Whether it has happened or not?” He said, “It has not happened yet.” He said, “Leave his calamity until it comes down.” He said, “So we sat down for him with a man,” and he said, “It has happened.” He said, “He feeds thirty poor persons for the first of them, for each poor person for each day.”

Hadith 159Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَجْلِسُ بِمَكَّةَ إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ يَوْمًا وَإِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَوْمًا فَمَا يَقُولُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فِيمَا يُسْأَلُ لَا عِلْمَ لِي أَكْثَرُ مِمَّا يُفْتِي بِهِ

Abdullah bin Imran told us, Ishaq bin Sulaiman told us, Al-Amri told us, on the authority of Ubaid bin Jurayj, he said, “I was sitting in Mecca to Ibn Omar one day and Ibn Abbas another day. So what Ibn Omar says about what he is asked, I have no knowledge of more than what he gives a fatwa with.

Hadith 160Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ تَعَلَّمُوا فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَا يَدْرِي مَتَى يُخْتَلُّ إِلَيْهِ

Muhammad ibn Yusuf informed us on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Abu Wa’il. He said, ‘Abdullah said, “Learn, for none of you knows when he will be betrayed.”

Hadith 162Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَعَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سُهَيْلٍ قَالَ كَانَ عَلَى امْرَأَتِي اعْتِكَافُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ فَسَأَلْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَعِنْدَهُ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ عَلَيْهَا صِيَامٌ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ لَا يَكُونُ اعْتِكَافٌ إِلَّا بِصِيَامٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ أَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَعَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَعَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَعَنْ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ لَا قَالَ عُمَرُ مَا أَرَى عَلَيْهَا صِيَامًا فَخَرَجْتُ فَوَجَدْتُ طَاوُسًا وَعَطَاءَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُمَا فَقَالَ طَاوُسٌ كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لَا يَرَى عَلَيْهَا صِيَامًا إِلَّا أَنْ تَجْعَلَهُ عَلَى نَفْسِهَا قَالَ وَقَالَ عَطَاءٌ ذَلِكَ رَأْيِي

Ibrahim bin Musa and Amr bin Zurarah informed us, on the authority of Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad, on the authority of Abu Suhail, who said: My wife was required to perform seclusion for three days. A few days in the Sacred Mosque, so I asked Omar bin Abdul Aziz, who had Ibn Shihab with him. He said, “I said she is required to fast.” Ibn Shihab said, “It is not.” Itikaf except by fasting, and Omar bin Abdul Aziz said to him: Help the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said: No. He said: On the authority of Abu Bakr. He said: No. He said: On the authority of Omar said, “No,” he said. On the authority of Othman, he said, “No.” Omar said, “I do not see her fasting.” So I went out and found Tawoos and Ataa bin Abi Rabah, so I asked them, and he said Tawus Ibn Abbas did not think that she should fast unless she imposed it on herself. He said, and Ata said, “That is my opinion.”

Hadith 163Sunan Ad-Darimi

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَقِيلٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ قَالَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْبَصْرَةَ أَتَيْتُهُ أَنَا وَالْحَسَنُ فَقَالَ لِلْحَسَنِ أَنْتَ الْحَسَنُ مَا كَانَ أَحَدٌ بِالْبَصْرَةِ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ لِقَاءً مِنْكَ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تُفْتِي بِرَأْيِكَ فَلَا تُفْتِ بِرَأْيِكَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ سُنَّةٌ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ كِتَابٌ مُنْزَلٌ

Muslim bin Ibrahim narrated to us, Abu Aqeel narrated to us, Saeed Al-Jariri narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Nadra, he said, when Abu Salamah came to Basra, I came to him Al-Hasan and I. He said to Al-Hasan, “You are Al-Hasan. There was no one in Basra more beloved to me to meet than you. That is because I was informed that you give a fatwa according to your opinion.” Do not give a fatwa based on your opinion unless it is a Sunnah from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, or a revealed book.

Hadith 165Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حُرَيْثِ بْنِ ظُهَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ أَتَى عَلَيْنَا زَمَانٌ لَسْنَا نَقْضِي وَلَسْنَا هُنَالِكَ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ قَدَّرَ مِنْ الْأَمْرِ أَنْ قَدْ بَلَغْنَا مَا تَرَوْنَ فَمَنْ عَرَضَ لَهُ قَضَاءٌ بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ فَلْيَقْضِ فِيهِ بِمَا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَإِنْ جَاءَهُ مَا لَيْسَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَلْيَقْضِ بِمَا قَضَى بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِنْ جَاءَهُ مَا لَيْسَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَمْ يَقْضِ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلْيَقْضِ بِمَا قَضَى بِهِ الصَّالِحُونَ وَلَا يَقُلْ إِنِّي أَخَافُ وَإِنِّي أُرَى فَإِنَّ الْحَرَامَ بَيِّنٌ وَالْحَلَالَ بَيِّنٌ وَبَيْنَ ذَلِكَ أُمُورٌ مُشْتَبِهَةٌ فَدَعْ مَا يَرِيبُكَ إِلَى مَا لَا يَرِيبُكَ

Muhammad bin Yusuf informed us on the authority of Sufyan on the authority of Al-Amash on the authority of Amara bin Umair on the authority of Harith bin Zuhair on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud. He said: There is a time upon us that we will not fulfill, and we will not be here, and indeed, God has decreed the matter. We have attained what you see. So whoever has a judgment offered to him after today Let him judge it according to what is in the Book of God Almighty, and if something comes to him that is not in the Book of God, let him judge it according to what the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, decided. If something comes to him that is not in the Book of God and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, has not decreed for it, let him judge according to what the righteous have decreed and not say, “I fear.” And I see that the forbidden is clear and the lawful is clear, and between that there are doubtful matters, so leave what doubts you for what does not doubt you.

Hadith 172Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي يُفْتِي النَّاسَ فِي كُلِّ مَا يُسْتَفْتَى لَمَجْنُونٌ

Muhammad ibn Yusuf informed us on the authority of Sufyan on the authority of Al-Amash on the authority of Abu Wa’il on the authority of Ibn Masoud. He said, “The one who gives fatwas to the people regarding everything that is asked for a fatwa.” He is crazy

Hadith 173Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا يُفْتِي النَّاسَ ثَلَاثَةٌ رَجُلٌ إِمَامٌ أَوْ وَالٍ وَرَجُلٌ يَعْلَمُ نَاسِخَ الْقُرْآنِ مِنْ الْمَنْسُوخِ قَالُوا يَا حُذَيْفَةُ وَمَنْ ذَاكَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ أَوْ أَحْمَقُ مُتَكَلِّفٌ

Sa`id bin Amir told us, on the authority of Hisham, on the authority of Muhammad, on the authority of Hudhayfah. He said, “Only three people issue fatwas: a man, an imam or a governor, and a man who knows a copyer.” The Qur’an is an abrogated one. They said, “O Hudhayfah.” And who is that? Omar bin Al-Khattab said, “or an arrogant fool.”

Hadith 174Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ إِنَّمَا يُفْتِي النَّاسَ أَحَدُ ثَلَاثَةٍ رَجُلٌ عَلِمَ نَاسِخَ الْقُرْآنِ مِنْ مَنْسُوخِهِ قَالُوا وَمَنْ ذَاكَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ وَأَمِيرٌ لَا يَجِدُ بُدًّا أَوْ أَحْمَقُ مُتَكَلِّفٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ فَلَسْتُ بِوَاحِدٍ مِنْ هَذَيْنِ وَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا أَكُونَ الثَّالِثَ

Abdullah bin Saeed told us, Abu Usama told us, on the authority of Hisham bin Hassan, on the authority of Muhammad, on the authority of Abu Ubaidah bin Hudhayfah, he said, he said Hudhayfah: The only person who issues fatwas to the people is one of three men who taught the abrogator of the Qur’an from the abrogated one. They said, “And who is that?” Umar ibn al-Khattab said. He and Amir said, “No.” He finds himself a badass or an arrogant fool. Then Muhammad said, “I am not one of these two, and I hope that I will not be the third.”

Hadith 176Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَى قَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ مَنْ عَلِمَ عِلْمًا فَلْيُعَلِّمْهُ النَّاسَ وَإِيَّاهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ مَا لَا عِلْمَ لَهُ بِهِ فَيَمْرُقَ مِنْ الدِّينِ وَيَكُونَ مِنْ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ

Yazid bin Harun told us, Humaid told us, on the authority of Abu Raja, on the authority of Abu Al-Muhallab, that Abu Musa said in his sermon: Whoever knows knowledge So let the people teach him and him not to say what he has no knowledge of, so he will abandon the religion and become one of those who are indifferent.

Hadith 177Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ وَزَاذَانَ قَالَا قَالَ عَلِيٌّ وَا بَرْدَهَا عَلَى الْكَبِدِ إِذَا سُئِلْتُ عَمَّا لَا أَعْلَمُ أَنْ أَقُولَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ

Amr ibn Aoun informed us, on the authority of Khalid ibn Abdullah, on the authority of Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, on the authority of Abu al-Bakhtari and Zazan. They said: Ali said, Its cold on the liver. If I am asked about something I do not know, I say, “God knows best.”

Hadith 179Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَيْرُ بْنُ عَرْفَجَةَ حَدَّثَنَا رَزِينٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ إِذَا سُئِلْتُمْ عَمَّا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ فَاهْرُبُوا قَالُوا وَكَيْفَ الْهَرَبُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ تَقُولُونَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ

Muhammad bin Yusuf informed us, Umair bin Arfaja told us, Razin Abu Al-Nu’man told us, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, he said, “If you are asked about something that does not You know, so flee. They said: How can you flee, O Commander of the Faithful? He said: You say, God knows best.

Hadith 180Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ عَنْ عَزْرَةَ التَّمِيمِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ وَا بَرْدَهَا عَلَى الْكَبِدِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالُوا وَمَا ذَلِكَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَ الرَّجُلُ عَمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ

Muhammad bin Humaid told us, Jarir told us, on the authority of Mansour, on the authority of Muslim Al-Bateen, on the authority of Ezra Al-Tamimi, he said: Ali said, “By sending it to The liver three times. They said, “What is that, O Commander of the Faithful?” He said, “When a man is asked about what he does not know, he says, ‘God knows best.’”

Hadith 181Sunan Ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا فَرْوَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَهُ عَنْ مَسْأَلَةٍ فَقَالَ لَا عِلْمَ لِي بِهَا فَلَمَّا أَدْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ نِعْمَ مَا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ سُئِلَ عَمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُ فَقَالَ لَا عِلْمَ لِي بِهِ

Farwah ibn Abi Al-Mughra informed us, Ali ibn Mushar informed us, on the authority of Hisham ibn Urwa, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn Umar, that a man asked him Concerning a matter, he said, “I have no knowledge of it.” When the man turned away, Ibn Umar said, “Yes, what Ibn Umar said.” He was asked about what he did not know, and he said, “I have no knowledge of it.”

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْعُمَرِيُّ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فَقَالَ لَا عِلْمَ لِي ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ بَعْدَ أَنْ قَفَّا الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ نِعْمَ مَا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ سُئِلَ عَمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُ فَقَالَ لَا عِلْمَ لِي يَعْنِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ نَفْسَهُ

Abdullah bin Maslamah told us, Abdullah Al-Umari told us on the authority of Nafi’, that a man came to Ibn Umar to ask him about something, and he said, “I have no knowledge.” Then he turned around after the man stood up and said, “Yes, what Ibn Umar said.” He was asked about what he did not know and he said, “I have no knowledge,” meaning Ibn Umar himself.
