Then he said: "How do you deal with people from among you who commit adultery?" They said; "We did not find anything in the Torah. Then Abdullah bin Salam said to them; "You have lied. In the Torah there is stoning. Bring the Torah and then read it, if you are the truthful people." Then they brought the Torah, while a person who studied the Torah among them placed the palm of his hand on the verse about stoning. He asked; "What is this?" When they saw it, they said: "That is the verse on stoning." Has told us [Abu Nu'aim] has told us [Basyir bin Al Muhajir] has told me [Abdullah bin Buraidah] from [his father] he said; I was sitting next to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, suddenly a woman from Bani Ghamid came to him and said; "O Nabiyullah, indeed I have committed adultery, and I want to cleanse myself." He said to him; "Come back." The next day, the woman came again confessing that she had committed adultery, she said; "O Nabiyullah, purify me, it seems like you want to reject me like rejecting (the confession of) Ma'iz bin Malik, by Allah, in fact I am pregnant (from that adultery)." So the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said to her: "Come back until you give birth." After giving birth, the woman came with a baby which she carried in a piece of cloth, the woman said; "O Nabiyullah, now I have given birth." He said: "Go and breastfeed the child until you wean him!" When the woman had finished weaning, he came and in the child's hand was a piece of bread. Then he said; "O Nabiyullah, truly I have weaned him." Then the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam ordered that the child be handed over to someone from among muslimin, then he ordered that a hole be made for the woman, finally she was placed in the hole up to her chest. Then he ordered the people to throw stones at him. A moment later Khalid bin Al Walid came with a stone, then he threw the woman's head until blood gushed down Khaid bin Al Walid's temple, he immediately cursed her. Hearing this cursing, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Resist, O Khalid, do not curse him. By the One whose soul is in His hand. Indeed, he has repented with such repentance that if a tax collector collects taxes that are not in accordance with the Shari'ah (Islam), the tax collector will surely be forgiven." Then he ordered that the woman be prayed for and buried. (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 22nd Hadith. Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam called her guardian and said: "Go and take care of her well, when she gives birth, bring her to me." Her guardian also carried out his orders, after that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam ordered that the woman's clothes be tied around her body, he finally ordered that the woman be stoned. After that he prayed for the woman's body, Umar said; "O Messenger of Allah, are you praying for him, while he has committed adultery?" He said: "Truly he has repented with a repentance which, if distributed among the seventy people of Medina, would have been enough for them all. Have you found a better repentance than someone who surrenders himself to Allah 'azza wajalla?" (Degree: authentic. Source: Sunan Ad-Darimi.) 23rd Hadith.
