Indeed, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” Whenever he prayed, he would do this, but the polytheists would say, “Muhammad only does this with his finger, enchanting it,” and they lied. It was only the Messenger of God. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him. He does this by uniting himself with his Lord, the Almighty.

He said, Abu Al-Yaman told us, he said, Ismail bin Ayyash told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Ishaq, on the authority of Muhammad bin Amr bin Ata, on the authority of Naim. Al-Mujmar, on the authority of Rabi’ah bin Ka’b, said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to me: Ask me and I will give you. I said, O Messenger of God, look at me and I will consider my matter. He said, “Look into your affairs.” He said, “I looked and said, ‘The affairs of this world are coming to an end, so I do not see anything better than something that I take for myself for my hereafter.’ So I went to the Prophet. May God bless him and grant him peace. He said, “What is your need?” I said, “O Messenger of God, intercede for me with your Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, so that He may free me from the Fire.” He said, “Who commanded you?” To this I said, “No, by God, O Messenger of God, no one commanded me to do that, but I looked into my matter and saw that the world was passing away from its people.” So I would like to take it for my afterlife. He said, “Then help yourself by prostrating frequently.”
