So the Ansar listened to him, so they brought him, and a man from among them, called Malik bin Al-Dakhshan, remained behind. He had committed adultery with hypocrisy, so they remained on food. So they discussed among themselves and said, “What is left behind us when it is known that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, visited us only because of his hypocrisy, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, visited us.” He greeted him and prayed, and when he left, he said, “Woe to him, as he testified that there is no god but God sincerely by it, for God Almighty has forbidden Hellfire to whoever bears witness to it.”

He said: Abdul-Ala bin Abdul-Ala told us, on the authority of Muammar, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Mahmoud bin Al-Rabi’, on the authority of Itban bin Malik, that They said to the Messenger of God, “The floods are preventing me from my people’s mosque, so I would like you to come to me and pray in a place in my house that I use as a mosque.” So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “We will do that.” He said, “When morning came, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, went to Abu Bakr, so he pursued him.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, entered and said, “Where do you want?” I pointed to him towards a corner of the house, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “So we lined up.” Behind him, he led us in two rak'ahs of prayer, and we fastened him on a tent that we had made, and the people of the house, meaning the people of the village, heard this, so they began to dress, and the house was filled. Then a man from the people said, “Where is Malik bin Al-Dakhsham?” A man said, “He is one of the hypocrites.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Don’t say it.” He said, “No.” There is no god but God, by which he seeks the face of God. He said, “As for us, we see his face and his speech to the hypocrites,” so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said Do not say that he says, “There is no god but God,” seeking the face of God in that. A man from among the people said, “Yes, O Messenger of God,” so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said. And peace be upon him, if a servant comes upon the Day of Resurrection saying, “There is no god but God,” seeking the face of God, except that he will be forbidden to the Fire. Mahmoud said, “So I narrated.” With that, a group of people among them was Abu Ayyub. He said, “I do not think that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said this.” He said, “If I return and ‘Itban is alive.” I will ask him, so I came while he was blind and he was the imam of his people, so I asked him and he spoke to me as he spoke to me the first time, and Itban Badriya said Abdul Razzaq told us, he said: Muammar told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Mahmoud bin Al-Rabi’, on the authority of Itban bin Malik, he said, “I came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.” And he said hello, so I said, “I have denied my sight,” so he mentioned its meaning, except that he said Malik bin Al-Dakhshin, and perhaps Al-Dukhishin said, and said, “He was forbidden to the Fire,” and he did not He says it was early

He said: Husayn bin Muhammad told us, he said: Jarir told us, meaning Ibn Hazim, on the authority of Ali bin Zayd bin Jud’an, he said: Abu Bakr bin Anas told me: Ibn Malik said: My father came from Syria as a delegation, and I was with him. We met Mahmoud Ibn al-Rabi’, and he narrated a hadith to my father on the authority of Itban Ibn Malik. My father said: My son, memorize this hadith, for it is one of the treasures of hadith. When we stopped, we went to Medina and asked about him, and behold, he was alive. A blind old man said, “So we asked him about the hadith, and he said, ‘Yes, my sight went away during the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.’ So I said, ‘O Messenger of God, it went away.’” My eyesight and I cannot pray behind you, so if you set up a mosque in my house and I pray in it, I will take it as a prayer place. He said, “Yes, for I will attack you tomorrow.” He said, “When he prayed From the next day, he turned to him, and he got up until he came to him and said, “Itban, where would you like me to stay for you?” So he described a place for him, so he settled down for him and prayed in it, then he was imprisoned. Or he sat and conveyed the news to the Ansar around us, and they came until the house was filled with us, and they mentioned the hypocrites and the harm and evil they incur. They reported their matter to a man of theirs called Malik ibn al-Dakhsham, and they said, “What is his situation and how is he?” and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was silent. When they increased, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Does he not bear witness that there is no god but God?” When it was the third time, they said that he was saying it. He said By the One who sent me with the truth, if he says it truthfully from his heart, the fire will never consume him. They said, they have never been so happy with anything as they were over what he said.
